About this listen

Lieutenant Laahn Cortez is about to sit down to his well-deserved supper when destiny hits — winged, scaled, and more than a little tipsy.

Rago is a fated mates/forced proximity short story from The Order Universe, featuring a puffing dragon shifter and a romp in the fencing hall.

A dragon shifter meets his fated mate and must be soothed... chaos breaks out at an army outpost when a dragon shifter becomes aware that his fated mate is nearby... this novella is rich in atmosphere and offers a wonderful glimpse of this first meeting between fated mates... after a short time in their company you wish it were a novel. Somehow it seems there is an economy of communication throughout this story -- a hand on a shoulder or the crook of an eyebrow here expresses volumes, and you just want more and more. I loved it.

Rich fated mates novella leaves you wanting more..

“Dragon shifters produce deep loud sounds in a wide range of pitch thanks to their long heavily muscled larynxes and unbroken fleshy vocal cords. The roars of a dragon shifter in distress, and in particular when separated from their mate, travel up to several thousand paces and can be described as blood-curdling. Dragon shifters may be extremely dangerous when experiencing separation anxiety. Save their mate, parents, or a skilled mage with a death wish, it is not advisable for anyone to approach them in such circumstances.”

Okay, with a beginning like that, how could I not be pulled right in?

The last audiobook I listened to was seventeen hours. Seventeen good hours, to be sure, but it was a tough slog. Rago came along at the perfect time. Something short to perk me up. Something to allow me to dive back into Ms. Bacon’s Order Universe. I always have great respect for authors who spend so much time world-building. She always takes me away to another time and place. Might not be the happiest of places, but it is somewhere other than here, and that’s a good thing.

I kind of have a thing for dragon shifters and was happy this one found his fated mate. And Laahn, that mate, seemed pretty pleased about it. This is a short listen that was fun and well worth my time. As always, Michael Fox narrated the story and he did a lovely job. He is perfectly suited for these stories. I look forward to more in the future.

Another great short

A black haired, green eyed, muscly dragon shifter. How can you go wrong. Not as much detail about the Order Universe in this one but doing what Kasia does best with starting a new relationship in which you’re left wanting more. ‘You teach me chess and I’ll take you flying’. Yes please!!!!! I need to learn fencing, and chess ASAP.

Dream come true!

I love this story. It’s funny, sexy and so positive, not drama at all. Rago’s voice is amazing, delicious.

Marvellous

For a short story, it packs quite a bit. Laahan, poor soul, doesn't get to eat his dinner (which sounded delicious). Instead he's summoned to help out with an unruly person. What transpires is a story of mates meeting and bonding in the sweetest, and sometimes funny, way. Rago and Laahan are a delight.
Michael Fox is really good, I really enjoyed listening to his narration and happy to see that he's done some of her other stories, yay!

Short, funny and sweet. Love this world :)
