Summary

Man's best friend is about to become his worst nightmare...

US army captain, Ed Crowley has a tragic reason for not liking dogs.

He’s about to have 115 million more.

A mutated rabies virus is sweeping through the world’s dog population, and no one is safe. With over 90 million domestic and tens of millions more wild and feral dogs in the United States, Rabies 2.0 is about to unleash hell. The infected animals aren’t just rabid, they have mutated into ugly, insatiable, and very large killing machines and Captain Crowley is about to lead a team into an overrun town to rescue a group of civilians trapped in a school.

To him it’s just another day at the office, after all, as with any other enemy he’d faced, bullets win the argument, and these ones couldn’t shoot back. What he doesn’t know is that he’s about to face a foe more cunning and ruthless than any on two legs that he’d ever faced.

Don’t miss the Rabid States Series by Scott Medbury, author of the haunting post-apocalyptic series AMERICA FALLS.

The premise here was very interesting and the development into the spread of the virus into other species was, although expected, very exciting and added to the story. The but is, I don't think Scott really gave these books his best shot. Maybe there was time pressure or maybe this was a side project. I was expecting more based on the excellent America falls series, but for one of many examples that I could have given, (and without trying to ruin any plot lines) the rabit bear part of the story could have been expanded to so much more, it was such a great idea but it didn't, really go anywhere! There was so much more he could have done with his characters as well within separate plot lines but he chose not to expand as much as I feel he could have within the various scenarios that he created.

I also found it quite difficult listen to the, let's call it 'romantic ' moments within the story. They were really, really tough going and overlong...and maybe even a bit seven shades of grey, but written by a teenage boy ( Sorry Scott).

overall, I felt an opportunity, kind of missed!...this could have been 10 books

I think Scott Medbury is an excellent author, and this book is not bad by any means...just could have been better...maybe some spin-offs in the future??

This could have been great!
