About this listen

After Richard Garrison lost his sight in a terrorist explosion, he developed vast mental powers that more than compensated for his blindness. He mastered the Psychomech machine, then used it to conquer his enemies and restore his dead love to full and vibrant life. Psychomech also revealed to Garrison the Psychosphere, a startling reality where mental powers reigned supreme and could influence people and events on Earth.

Once he was nearly godlike - or demonic, if one dared become his enemy - but now Garrison's mental abilities grow weaker with each use. Having recently enjoyed Psychomech, I jumped straight into the second volume. I wasn't sure what I was expecting but I don't think I could've predicted this. It had the usual horror elements typical of Lumley, but also added crime and espionage into the mix. The main bad guy is really interesting and a bit out there.
Gary Furlong did a great job with the narration. He handles multiple accents really well. It was enjoyable to listen to.
Definitely recommended for fans of the first book, Lumley in general, or people that like unpredictable stories.
Another quality presentation from Crossroad Press.
Highly recommended.

This followup to Psychomech is perhaps crazier than the first book. Lumley goes some weird places in this one, and while I'm not sure it works the whole time, it's a wild ride with a truly unique oddball villain.
