Enjoyable short story

This is the second book I have listened to in the series. This was an easy listen and developed the main characters and their relationship further. The only thing to be aware of is that these are very short stories, not necessarily a bad thing as ideal for my journey to and from work.

Read in order

I’ve listened to these out of order which means I already know what happens after this story. This needs to be read before Truffles, tirades and trouble. I really enjoyed hearing about Melody clues shaping into the unofficial detective role. She works her way around the town to help investigate the evidence. This does end with a suspension of more. Great series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Frustratingly good.

I was given a free copy of this book and I'm leaving an honest and voluntary review. I highly recommend this to anyone! This is the second book I've listened to by Meredith Potts and I'm hooked. My only complaint is it's too short, I'm left wanting, Melody is such a believable character, she's very likeable with plenty of depth. The story is very nicely paced, it draws you into the plot and keeps you fully engrossed. The narration is flawless, Stephanie Quinn brings this delightful mystery to life, giving the characters their own personality and capturing their emotions perfectly. A winning combination 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ easily....

lovely

I love these bite side mysteries they do bring a smile to my face this mystery is a little bit of a let down, however, as there is more talk about marriage and babies than detective work

Pretzels, Problems, and Peril

Melody is once again drawn into murder investigation. She had done a job for a woman and proven that that woman's fiance was cheating on her. Then a few days later the man who had been cheating on his fiance is found dead by fowl means. She can't believe that her client would do something like that. In the midst of the investigation her mother tries to play match maker with the detective who Melody once knew when she was younger. Melody decides to do some investigating of her own and the outcome is totally unexpected. Stephanie Quinn is an excellent narrator who breathes life into the characters. Fantastic audio and story!

Earns 5/5 Pretzel Runs...Light Entertainment!

There isn’t some rule that cozy mysteries need to be long and complex with ‘black hat’ villains and ‘white hat’ protagonists; they should, however, be entertaining. Meredith Potts has provided short, light entertainment in her Majestic Cove series with likable private investigator Melody Clue who eases her stress with a hot, soft pretzel dipped in a gooey sauce...a girl after my own heart! Preparing to sit and chill, the breaking news catches her attention; old friend Detective Scott Webster is answering reporters questions about a murder. Melody recognizes the victim as the man she’d been following in connection with a pre-wedding infidelity case. The bride threatened to give her fiancé “a piece of her mind,” and now he’s dead...coincidence? Stephanie Quinn uses her voice talents to go beyond a traditional reading. She does well to portray Melody through a first-person narrative, then changes tone and dialect to fit the personalities, emotions, and gender of the other characters. As a female narrator she did satisfactory with male voices. This book is a continuation of the first book, “Chocolate, Clues and Catastrophe,” and the drama has ticked up with a murder, Melody’s involvement causes problems with law enforcement, and mother/daughter conflicts over husband possibilities and need for grand-babies. Although short (a bit one hour) and light entertainment, it is very enjoyable. The police make an arrest that Melody is sure something “doesn’t sit right.” Cliffhanger? Fun! Disclosure: I received a code from the author. My review is voluntary with honest insights and comments.

Intriguing

What a lighthearted, suspense story. Melody has to solve a murder, unfortunately she knew the victim. This makes it a bit more difficult. The narrator made me feel as if I was part of the story.

Pretzels, Problems, and Peril

I love Melody Clue, she's so smart and observant. However, this story ends too abruptly. Melody finds the final clue, then boom it's solved and story over. I felt like there needed to be some transition explaining how the final clue came to the arrest, how it was matched up with the guilty party. Again, this narrator does nothing for me. Her main character voice is fine, but the voices she uses for other characters just really grate on my nerves, like she has to try too hard. Overall, it's an enjoyable story and I like how there are no cliffhangers but the books are linked.

Pretzels!

When a book starts out with warm, soft pretzels, you know you are in for a treat. Melody is a detective and when a murder happens in Majestic Cove, we know she will be on the case...even if she isn't supposed to be. When Connor, a person she had recently been investigating is found murdered, her interest is piqued. Without a current case to work on, Melody finds herself in the midst of help finding the murderer, and it won't be who you suspect. This is a fun, very quick, very delicious listen you don't want to miss. Stephanie Quinn brings it alive with her fabulous performance!

Another cute, well-written & enjoyable clean cozy

Pretzels, Problems, and Peril (Melody Clue #2), my forty-third short read from author Meredith Potts, Another cute, well-written & enjoyable clean cozy mystery. Well-written & enjoyable, another cute, clean cozy mystery. I was been given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. AS in so many of her audiobooks, Stephanie Quinn’s talented narration adds to the book's enjoyment. I look forward to reading the next in this series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Good Read

Pretzels, Problems, and Peril was another great read by Meredith Potts. Things seem to get back to normal in Majestic Cove, when a murder occurs again. Unfortunately Melody knows the victim from when she investigated his affair. Melody is determined to find out who the murderer is and why. I can’t wait to read more by Meredith Potts.

A fun tale.

This quick tale was so much fun Melody a lover of sweets is on the case. Now she is a bit pushy you might say but she simply cannot just let this one go. I love the interaction between her and Scott and the narration by Ms. Quinn was great. This book was short, sweet, and good.

Cute

This was a cute, quick listen. Perfect for when you want something to listen to while crafting! This is the first book from this author that I’ve read/listened to and it won’t be the last. I did receive a free copy of this book, but the review was my honest opinion.
