    Dec 4 2023

Welcome to Season 3 of Down Under Theology, a podcast equipping and encouraging Australian Christians to get down and under the theology impacting the life and mission of the church.

In this special bonus episode, we chat with Dr Brandon D. Crowe about his newly released book, The Lord Jesus Christ: The Biblical Doctrine of the Person and Work of Christ (Lexham Press, 2023). This work, the first in the We Believe series edited by our very own Murray Smith and John McClean, combines biblical, historical, and theological study to examine Christ, our Redeemer. The book is written from a confessionally Reformed perspective in dialogue with the creeds of the church, and forms a faithful and thorough guide to understanding Jesus and his work of salvation.

Dr. Brandon D. Crowe is professor of New Testament at Westminster Theological Seminary and book review editor for the Westminster Theological Journal.

  • S3 Episode 23: Kingdom, Power & Glory
    Nov 2 2023

Welcome to Season 3 of Down Under Theology, a podcast equipping and encouraging Australian Christians to get down and under the theology impacting the life and mission of the church.

In the final episode of season 3, we look at the end of the Lord's prayer - or is it? For the kingdom, power and glory are yours, now and forever - where did this line come from? Why is it part of what we know as the Lord's prayer if it's not in [most] texts? We discuss how this line provides grounding for the rest of the prayer, and how it points us forward to the end. We also reflect on the season and how what we've learned has impacted our own prayer lives.

  • S3 Episode 22: Deliver Us From Evil
    Oct 26 2023

Welcome to Season 3 of Down Under Theology, a podcast equipping and encouraging Australian Christians to get down and under the theology impacting the life and mission of the church.

In Episode 22, we look at the final petition of the Lord's Prayer - lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. We discuss the small translation issue of "evil" vs "evil one", and chat about whether or not God gives temptations or trials, and or the difference. We also chat about Providence and how this part of the prayer works its way out in our everyday lives.
