Romantic with a Dash of Suspense

These were my first Terry Odell books and they were exactly as one would expect them to be. I enjoy mysteries and a bit of suspense and these stories definitely had that. The stories were also romantic and sweet. Perhaps, what I enjoyed most of all was the fact that the characters and the plot lines were more balanced. Both protagonists in each story were intelligent, strong while simultaneously being vulnerable. I reckon relationships with persons in the police force would present its own challenges, and Terry Odell tried to incorporate this fact into the plot lines.

As usual, Kelley Hazen gave a stellar performance while narrating these books. She can be counted on to add texture to the story in a way that compliments the characters, action and events.

Overall, this collection of audiobooks was entertaining and easy to listen to.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Great Disappointment

I think this is the Noddy and Big Ears of crime fiction. The story was bland and predictable and the love interest and dialogue were just cringeworthy. I purchased this as a 4 book offer - I managed to complete the first book - just to see if there was any improvement as the book progressed. There wasn't. I cannot read the following books.

Too much sex!

I don’t consider myself a prude, but I prefer my police and mystery stories not to be interspersed with explicit sex scenes the sometimes last for my entire 40 minute commute.

Good story line to much sex my taste

I like the story okay. Good story line. Good debrief of characters.

The sex was too much in the first book a bit better in the following books. I like romance I just don't like a blow by blow. It takes from the story for me.

Collection of cliches

The heroine is so dumb she forgets to eat but the hero is attracted to her beyond any woman on earth. Yikes

Not My Cup Of Tea

Sorry, I could not finish book one of this multiple book volume. The story did not hold my interest and I became bored with it.

What a great group of novels.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series of novels. Well written and well narrated. I couldn't wait to listen and wished there were more now that I have finished them. Good stories.

Enjoyed the crime part

I really enjoyed the crime and mystery and Randy, but Sarah was such a selfish person I wanted to slap her. Got halfway through the second book and couldn’t stand her petulance any longer. I sincerely hope Randy kicked her to the curb and lived happily ever after. Not to be recommended.

Great Read

Pine Hills Police: Four Complete Novels (Pine Hills Police #1-4) was a great read by Terry Odell. This set consists of; Finding Sarah, Hidden Fire, Saving Scott, and Nowhere to Hide. These books follow different police officers in the Pine Hills Police Department. I really enjoyed these books and loved Kelley Hazen's narration. I can't wait to read more by Terry Odell.

Book was great at first and then all 4 parts were too similar. The same plot repeated!

Great storyline

I enjoyed the storyline. The characters were believable and the story went along wanting wanting to know what was going to happen next.

The only thing that sort of bothered me I felt that the sexual scenes were a bit explicit, Less sex more storyline. Other than that I really enjoyed the series.

Thank you for several hours of enjoying the story.

Formula Driven

I enjoyed the first book very much. Those that follow are the same story with just different names. Explicit sex is used to shore up weak story/plot and characters.
