I read Dean Atta's "The Black Flamingo" (2019) and loved its movement, rhythm, and varied layout. "An Ode To My Black Queer Body" will make most readers uncomfortable, but they are also life-enhancing. He is a strong, critical voice, and we still need to read the stories he has to tell. He deserves a wide readership, and I'm very interested in what he will do next.
