Overall I found Paper Hearts to be a comforting listen — it hits the heart, gives a bit of adventure, and ends on a hopeful note. It’s not groundbreaking, but it doesn’t need to be. For fans of YA romance or anyone who enjoys stories about self-discovery, family, and finding unexpected love, it’s worth the time.

Reba Buhr’s narration is a highlight. She brings Felicity’s internal struggle to life, making you feel the weight of her responsibilities and hopes. The romance with Alec is sweet without being overbearing, and the masked stranger trope gives a fun start. The plot also does well at balancing light moments (friends, flirting, the road’s adventure) with heavier ones (family secrets, longing, the sister running away). The pacing is generally good: the story unfolds in a way that keeps you curious (especially about Rose and the letters).
