About this listen
In classic Overlord fashion the storys revolves around the weak being powerless against the strong. Ainz for most of this part of the story follows the remaining Paladins as they try to liberate the prison camps and cities. Ainz spends most of his time on the sidelines along with his squire. The NPC's don't appear much in this book.
The battles are gory in typical Overlord fashion. Ainz does his usual playing with an enermy before killing them which feels a little cliche at this point in the franchise.
With the book being part 1 it's sets up the characters and stakes which will resolve in the next book.
peak overlord and my fav in the series

The narration is still decent, aside from the excessive yelling, but this book is 99% excruciatingly paced conversations that repeat the same dull points over and over. Even a 'Part 1' needs a climax, but this has none; it rambles off into an hour of poorly edited nonsense and expects you to be raring to move onto the sequel.
If you must continue following the series, don't waste your time on this one. Just skip ahead and hope the next one actually has a story of its own.
Time Poorly Spent
