IT'S TIME TO FINISH WHAT THEY STARTED . . .

Tadhg and Laura used to be in a band together. They used to be a lot of things. Now he's a superstar, touring the world with his songs. And Laura tries not to think about all the big dreams she used to have.

Then she gets an email that could change everything: Tadhg wants to finish a song they started writing together sixteen years ago. Making music again would literally be a dream come true, even if it's with a person she swore she'd never speak to again. And they can keep things professional, right?

As Tadhg and Laura start working together though, sparks begin to fly. Maybe music isn't the only thing that deserves a second chance . . .

'Tender-hearted and full of yearning' Sophie White

'Warm and swoony' Edel Coffey, Irish Times

As soon as I started this I was hooked . As someone who went to college in Dublin in the mid to late 1990s and also at the same time discovered Grafton Street buskers the Whelan's music scene , this book brought me right back . I was completely invested in Laura and Tadhg ..an absolute gem of a story . I miss it already

A glimpse into a parallel universe of music in a place and time that I lived through sport. Great writing, unstoppable listen!

Beautiful written book about friendship and love, with funny and relatable dialogue. Nostalgic trip down memory lane. Loved the main characters, I didn’t want the book to finish as I was so invested in their story.

Heartwarming

Really enjoyed the story & the characters were well written. Some of the storylines in the novel were really well touched upon…relationship breakdown, fertility, finance etc. its a story about youth, having the world at your fingertips, taking different paths than one’s planned, adulting in life & all that encompasses, relationships, jobs, house, love lost & found, dreams lost & found and hope.
The narration, at times, was off putting & at times was hard to differentiate when conversations between the characters ended or who was saying what, sometimes the intonation felt wrong too.
Overall really engaging & enjoyable listen

Really enjoyable & engaging story

a nice easy listen. the characters are all pretty two dimensional and all secondary characters only function as devices for the main character (who is fairly annoying), which means the whole story feels narcissistic. the story itself is sweet but you absolutely know what will happen at each point in the arc; the characters serve the story rather than the story serving the characters. I read this after finishing a far more complex novel (Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow) and it was a nice light listen to switch off my brain and before moving onto something deeper.

sweet but predictable
