Summary

A mother will risk everything to find her missing daughter in this twisty thriller from the author of Girl Gone Mad.

“Sometimes teenagers run away...Give her a few days. She’ll be back.”

That’s what the police tell Jessica Moore when her seventeen-year-old daughter, Wyn, vanishes. All signs point to this being true. But days become weeks. Weeks become months. And Jessica begins to fear the terrible truth - that she may never see her daughter again.

Then, one year later, when all hope seems lost, Jessica gets a flurry of text messages from Wyn that freeze her blood: mom. please help. i think he’s going to kill me. But Wyn’s terrified plea comes with a warning not to call the police. Her kidnapper wears a badge.

As Jessica’s fears are raised again, so are the stakes. Delving into the months leading up to Wyn’s disappearance, Jessica stumbles upon information that could put her own life in danger. With each revelation, the nightmare deepens. Now she must decide just how far she’ll go to bring her daughter home.

Wow!❤️

I was super reluctant to try this book because there wasn’t any reviews yet. Brittney Presley is one of my favorite narrators, so I gave it a shot. I struggled to STOP listening to this book. Loved this book and I was sad it ended. There’s a twist at the end that I never saw coming!!!

Another knock-out performance by both of them.

A great story, with a lot of twists and turns, which seems to be the author's bread and butter. A bit disappointed, was hoping Wyn would be found alive, but I did love how everything fell into place. Brittany Pressley is one of my favorite audio book narrators, and she's at the top of her game here, bringing the right emotion to her performance as all characters.

Lots of unexpected twist and turns!

This is the first book I have read by the author and it won’t be the last! There were so many twists and turns at the end that were unexpected it really made some of the slow areas worth it! There were only a few places in this book that kind of dragged along. It was definitely worth the credit. You couldn’t help but cry for Jessica and you could really feel the pain of some of the other characters. There is also some bullying in here, but it’s not really seriously bad all the time. All in all, it is a wonderful book! Give it a try! It is worth the credit!

Excellent

Loved this book. I actually gasped at certain parts of the story. Excellent writing. Excellent understanding of teenagers and how they behave, react, and talk.

Good book

This was a pretty good book. It was worth the credit. I’m irritated though that someone put a spoiler in the reviews and I knew how things would end up with WYN. They should monitor the reviews better

Not really a review…

Because I haven’t finished, however, 10 chapters in there are details that the author got wrong those niggle me. If they don’t bother you… then you won’t have an issue but they do bother me because it makes me wonder how many other things are going to be implausible or just plain wrong?
The daughter was thought to run away but no activity on her debit card. So their
(Law enforcement) idea was she went to a convenience store bought a pack of gum and got 100 cash back. I don’t know of a convenience store that will give you 100 dollars for a purchase that small not to mention IT WILL STILL APPEAR ON THE BANK STATEMENT. The entire idea was the girl was so smart she avoided activity on her card. 100 cash back at 7-11 will appear as that plus there are security cameras in every convenience store.
It’s silly and takes away from the authenticity. Authors do you not live in the same world as us regular people? Sigh….

I wasn't sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. the narration was great, interesting characters and the story was engaging. I'm a sticker for a plot twist and unexpected endings and this had it! so good.

Well done, for the most part with a twist!

I think overall it was a pretty good book. There was definitely a twist at the end, or should I say several. I personally didn't give it five stars because I already predicted the twist. I did catch on to a certain detail that the main character brings up later on, which eventually led her to the truth. So I already knew how it was going to go down about halfway through the story. But hey, not everybody will get that, and overall it was a pretty good read. Definitely not what I would call a happy ending, which is refreshing, but closure, for sure. I would have loved to know exactly who was brought to justice, though. There was one person in particular I think we all really wanted to know were punished, and we never actually found out.

Very good!

This story was really good. Was hoping for a happier ending but it kept me enthralled until the very end. Great storytelling!
