About this listen

Shortly after Hercule Poirot’s visit, a dentist lies murdered in his Harley Street practice…

The dentist was found with a blackened hole below his right temple. A pistol lay on the floor near his outflung right hand. Later, one of his patients was found dead from a lethal dose of local anaesthetic. A clear case of murder and suicide. But why would a dentist commit a crime in the middle of a busy day of appointments?

A shoe buckle holds the key to the mystery. Now – in the words of the rhyme – can Poirot pick up the sticks and lay them straight?

Hugh Fraser is wonderful as ever. I really thought I had it this time. Sadly I was wildly incorrect. Maybe next time.

Another great Christie.

An interesting story, the detective component is quite satisfactory. Not all of the Christie's stories are such existing. I recommend it.

Interesting and exciting

I love an Agatha Christie novel, especially Poirot but I feel when read by Hugh Fraser they just go to the next level of enjoyment. Thoroughly enjoyed listening.

Great narration by Hugh Fraser again I wish all the Poirot stories where narrated by him. Even though I've read this story loads of times I'd actually forgot who the murder was.

Another great Agatha Christie story.
