Summary

Abigail, the woodmouse; Russell, the hedgehog; Edgar, the mole; and Michelle, the badger, known to their teacher as the Furlings, come face-to-face with dangers unintentionally brought to their forest world by the human pursuit of "progress". This is a tie-In audio novelization for Hanna-Barbera's final theatrically released animated motion picture, based upon characters and a concept created by Rae Lambert.

it was terrifying as a kid!!!

I have been searching for this audio for ages now as I heard it when I was a kid, 15 years ago. I was always so creeped out by it and thought it was so eerie and dark and would get scared of it. my parents always thought it was nonsense and would repeatedly tell me it was a children's story it wasn't dark.
well I found it and listened to it right now and I still think of it somewhat the way I use to! the speaker is quite off putting and his voice is NOT right for a children's book. also the music added to the scariness of it too. just listen to the part that Abigail finds Micheals parents dead. and when one of the characters thought he was drowning. so creepy! music and voice does not make a good children's story at all.
now I know it wasn't just my imagination as a child now.
