Summary

What happens when a one-night stand turns into a long-distance friendship, and yet both yearn for more?

Cady Dunne decided to roll the dice when she jumped into bed with sexy, professional hockey player Zane Kavanaugh. It was supposed to be a one-night stand and then it was supposed to be over.

After returning home to Dublin, Cady in a million years never imagined Zane would reach out to her. It was beyond comprehension to Zane that he would actually develop a close relationship with the Irish beauty forged over countless emails, texts, and phone calls.

But when feelings get deeper and they are both ready to take the next step, how do they get past the fact that there is an ocean separating their lives? Maybe all they really need is a Christmas miracle.

This book can be listened to as a standalone.

Quirky and Enjoyable

A lovely novella following NHL hockey star Zane Kavanaugh and Irish student Cady Dunne as they work through the pros and cons of having a one night stand, followed by a long distance, texting, phoning and email relationship. Quick, easy, fun and sexy read that follows all their emailing and texts. Quirky and enjoyable.

Short, Sweet and Steamy

This was a just a sweet little nugget in the Off series to let you know what happened to some of our favorite characters from other books in the series. This book was just long enough to explore the quick romance between Cady and Zane and get us caught up on the lives of the past romances in the series. Sawyer Bennett definitely knows how to keep me interested.

As usual Charlotte North and Matthew Holland did a good job with the narration. I love that they can do so many accents. Keep narrating and I will keep listening.

Since this is a novella, I would recommend paying the reduced price and not use a credit. But I would say it was worth the price I paid. I'm loving this series.

Typical Sports Romance

This was a sports romance that began with a one night stand. Rather implausible. It was predictable and somewhat dull. Not like the Sawyer Bennett I’ve read before. This series was her first I believe. My favorite book of hers is still Friction, much sexier and wittier than this. Narration was just ok. It good to pass the time with.

Meh… Not for me….

This short novella spends most of its time in a long distance relationship with cute and funny emails going back and forth becoming a long distance relationship. Even worse, it skips over the best part, the sex, or rather most of the sexy by talking about it in the past tense.😒😑🥱 oh wait there was one phone sex even that blew me away……

Anyhoo…There’s a hockey pro who has a wild night with one of his teammates relatives and can’t stop thinking about her even though she has to leave after their incredible weekend. The heroine agrees but she’s worried they’ll never be able to sustain a relationship because of the distance and that was the main plot.🤷🏽‍♀️I mean it is a novella but I like something a little more interesting.

The narration was spot on, the accent was fine, the reading is what kept me listening because it definitely wasn’t the story. Sorry….

Sweet and steamy

Both the male and female narrators did a good job. Liked her Irish lilt! This is about Cady and hockey player, Zane, who have a sizzling one night stand. There’s a major connection there, but both agree more isn’t possible with Cady living in Ireland and Zane’s responsibilities to his hockey team. These two can’t deny the chemistry between them though, so they send emails, text, and talk on the phone pretty much daily, but just as friends. There’s just a small problem, being friends with someone you’ve slept with and want to sleep with again isn’t exactly an easy task; especially if one of those people continues to date. I hated that part, but it’s not too involved. Loved the passion between these two! The communication between them is cute. Didn’t like how much Cady pushed away from Zane, but I liked her okay. Zane is mostly a sweetheart; his thinking is a bit too sleazy sounding at times; less about his manwhore ways would’ve been nice, and I didn’t like his friend and fellow hockey player, Nico, but his feelings for Cady did come through well. He’s fully on board! Overall, the story is a nice, sweet, steamy read.

Cady and Zane

A fast paced, endearing, friendship induced, sexy romance. Zane and Cady are magnetic, their chemistry is sizzling hot. They try out a long distance friendship, learning everything they can about each other. Their feelings become more but do not know how to be together living so far from one another. This was a great story about a beautiful friendship that may or may not lead to something more. I loved it! Charlotte North and Matthew Holland have been the narrators throughout this entire series and I have to say I really enjoy listening to them. Simply perfect.

Great little listen

This was a really fun audiobook to listen to. I love the narrator's accents and the way they bring story to life. The story itself was written well with just the right amounts of sexual attraction, actionable parts, romance, and dialogue to move it along. The narrators were just as amazing in this one as they were in the rest of the series. Throughout this series, Matthew Holland was been able to showcase his narrative talent with a vast array of accents - ranging from an Irish bloke, a New Jersey fast talker, to a midwestern twang. Charlotte north is just as great with her ability to bring out distinct characteristics of each female character portrayed.
As a short book, it was the right amount of time to listen in one day during breaks in other activities where listening is impossible.
