short political article. this was a bit strange, it did not really discuss the opinion of the general population, which is an important part of this, not just why they would be needed or how effective they are. and it was also implying that European countries do not pay anything towards NATO, which is not correct. it was almost like listening to an ad about why i should go purchase NATO, i guess it counts as a political article…especially when the general population is looking for disarmament. it would have been nice to discuss that as well. it was almost too simplistic.
it was interesting to hear that these things expire though, and i assume the implication is that investment in a new round would be needed, because the old ones are approaching the "end of their lifecycle"...i had to go and look that up, apparently some types are only reasonably ok for about 12 years, fun fact.
