About this listen

Aliens exist, the government knows, and Dan McCarthy just found the proof. When Dan McCarthy stumbles upon a folder containing evidence of the conspiracy to end all conspiracies - a top-level alien cover-up - he leaks the files without a second thought. The incredible truth revealed by Dan's leak immediately captures the public's imagination, but Dan's relentless commitment to exposing the cover-up and forcing disclosure quickly earns him some enemies in high places. For his whole life, Dan McCarthy has searched for a reason to believe. Now that he finally has one, he might soon wish he didn't.... Not Alone is a stand-alone tale of contact and disclosure for the 21st century.

I absolutely loved this book! The story had me hooked the whole way through, I couldn't stop listening (much to my partner's annoyance). It's a long book, but I didn't want it to end.

Only one criticism is that the narrator couldn't do accents AT ALL, it was almost comical!

Bottom line: I love good sci-fi and long audiobooks, and this ticked the boxes!

LOVED this!!

Enjoyed the book in general; plenty of twists and turns and interesting characters. For the most part, the performance is fine, but man does he mangle a British accent!

Worth a listen.

Good story, so-so performance

Good take on the first contact scenario from the ground level up.
the only slight hiccup was the narrators non American accents... That British accent was awful..

Good read! Great Sorry. .

too long and slow for my taste. The authors understanding of the British is totally incorrect.

unbelievable stereotype of British

Excellent story, fairly tight narrative, likable characters with good guys, bad guys, in-betweeners and some you won't believe! Paced just right to keep you hooked without over doing it, though there were a couple of what felt like padding areas and these had to be woven back in to the story later to make them useful...but could have been left out.

When the first twist comes you won't see it, unless you're a conspiracist! If you then spot the second you'll have to abandon any claims you made. Those like me, not spotting either, will be richly rewarded by listening to this. The narrator makes the different characters come alive individually and makes it more enjoyable than going off and simply reading it yourself.

Grab this, you won't be disappointed!

Two very unexpected twists!
