Summary

'When I was a kid the first album I owned was by Wilson Phillips, I remember the lyric from the song "Hold On": "No one can change your life except for you". It's how I've chosen to live my life. There is a freedom when you take back control. Stop waiting for someone to save you and do it yourself. I recognise everyone has different levels of struggle but no one just hands you a chance. We don't have to wait for Prince Charming to rescue us, or wait for the opportunity to come to us. We can be our own heroines. We can create our own dreams.'

Laura Whitmore knows lucky breaks come to those who are ready to step into their own power, even when they're feeling nervous as hell about it. In No One Can Change Your Life Except for You, she shares her experiences of overcoming heartbreak, body image worries, self-doubt and insecurity.

Laura has learned that optimism, self-belief and learning to accept yourself will bring you more than anyone else can ever give you. And she shows how her own struggles can help you through yours.

Frank, heartfelt, inspirational and funny, this is a book to remind you that the hero you are looking for is you.

The Greatest Self-help Book I've Ever Read!

Hands down the greatest self-help book I've ever read.
Honest, authentic, humorous, relatable, understandable; no unnecessary scientific or Greek philosopher lecture excerpts.
Laura invites us (not forcing or lecturing) to learn from her own experiences and research. From the 2nd chapter I was completely hooked.

Topics include:
How to stop comparing yourself to others.
Imposter System.
How to get out of feeling stuck.
Social Media issues that may trigger you and how to deal with it.
How we view the world.
Dealing with challenges.
Finding Joy.
Considering the future.
Inner peace.
Relationships.
Fear.
Saying yes to adventure.
The Future

"Stop giving a f*** about everything you are not and and start living what you are!"

Full of extremely good quotes from herself and other successful people along with reflections and affirmations.

Drawing upon her own wealth of experience, described in her typical authentic and relatable Irish way, with plenty of cursing! (Laura your mum is gonna kill ya!)

I've already ordered the physical book so I can give it more attention and highlight useful parts for reference.

Male or female, give this fantastic book a go! You deserve it.

Love love love

I loved listening to this. The honesty, quirky storys and 80s references. It was like listening to a friends story over cocktails. She speaks from the heart and is so relatable. Time to be our own hero xx

Something for everyone...

Laura has a perfect little bit of helpful advice and a great big hug for everyone in this book. Not all of it will relate to everyone, but I bet there is something that you need to hear. Thought provoking and inspiring. An intelligent voice that should be heard.
