William Gibson
William Gibson revolutionised science fiction in his 1984 debut Neuromancer. The writer who gave us the matrix and coined the term 'cyberspace' produced a first novel that won the Hugo, Nebula and Philip K. Dick Awards, and lit the fuse on the Cyberpunk movement. More than three decades later, Gibson's text is as stylish as ever, his noir narrative still glitters like chrome in the shadows and his depictions of the rise and abuse of corporate power look more prescient every day. Part thriller, part warning, Neuromancer is a timeless classic of modern SF and one of the 20th century's most potent and compelling visions of the future.

good book, shame about the reading

Books like this need a clearer delivery, the punctuation and enunciation are so important to give context and clarity. There are also a number of sloppy edits and corrections that don't help.
Jason tries very hard with some very difficult material but it took the shine of for me.
Alot to take in that lack clarity of performance

So much is going on in every scene, so much detail is given but because of the engaging work of the narrator, it rarely feels over done.
I've nothing to compare this too and that's a massive positive in opinion, as this is one of the most unique stories I've ever heard.
I'd highly recommend this if you're a sci-fi fan who also enjoys a good heist movie.

yet it's delivery is often choppy, chaotically structured, and occasionally confusing. perhaps listening on Audio didn't help, as the continual 'flip' of perception between Matrix, reality, and SIM chip was tricky to follow with a narrator. I like Jason Flemming, as an actor, but at times his narration lacked variety and emphasis.
all told, it's definitely worth the time, and is a classic of sci fi, and key book in genre, but it could have been a smoother ride.
Seminal work but messy

The narration was an interesting departure from how the characters would be expected to have spoken, but after years of listening to American narrators it was strangely charming to have a Southern English Case and Molly, Eastern European Armitage, and a Welsh Julius Deane was delightful.
I still recommend it as much as I would have two decades ago.
