If your life has permanently changed and you feel like you have lost yourself somewhere along the way, it may be depression. Depression is a real illness. It has to be treated correctly.

Before diagnosing depression, it's important to rule out any other possible reasons for these symptoms. Some physical illnesses, such as thyroid problems, brain tumor, and Parkinson's disease, create a similar picture. That's why your doctor will want to check your physical health first. Once you are diagnosed with depression, the treatment can begin.

In this depression workbook for adults, we will define several types of depression, such as major depression, persistent depressive disorder, psychotic depression, postpartum depression, seasonal affective disorder, and bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder is not actually a form of depression, but it's included here because a person who suffers from it experience alternates between episodes of mania, extremely high mood, and depression.

You will discover:

  • Who can suffer from depression
  • Why does depression happen
  • How does depression affect your life
  • What depression feels like
  • What is a treatment of depression, including psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy
  • The ways of self-help for depression
  • How to never become depressed
  • Prevention
  • And much more

So, don't isolate yourself and suffer in silence. Reach out for help because healing is possible. You don't have to live in a cage of pain for the rest of your life. You can get your life back, and this audiobook is here to help you. This world is a magical place. You just forgot it. What you need is to remind yourself of that. Don't give up.

So, sit back and relax.

I found this audiobook very helpful to understand

I found this audiobook very helpful to understand depression better. Good, there is a paper version too. I currently have a friend struggling with depression, and I wanted to know what things I could say or do to help him.

An extremely helpful listen.

I learned so much from this book. Not only did I determine what depression really is, I learned what it is not. A little surprised there. Plus I learned many simple, easy-to-implement steps to help yourself in dealing with depression in my daily life and prevention. An extremely helpful listen.

Grateful.

If you suffer from mild depression, this is an excellent resource. There are a lot of wonderful adjuncts to therapy and medication. It was handy to listen and gives you a good feeling that you can help yourself more than you thought you could. If one is dealing with severe depression though, this is not quite the resource needed. But in any cause of depression go to a doctor. They will help you! It is easy now with modern medications. And this audiobook offers the same, to seek help from professionals and adds some tips to help yourself in a healing process.
I found it an excellent motivational and calming resource for people dealing with mild depression. But it will be useful for everyone.

Excellent audiobook.

Nature of Depression offers depressed people a way out of their depression by offering numerous suggestions. I routinely give this book to my clients as an adjunct to therapy. Anyone who is depressed should have this book. And the low price in the audio version does not do justice to this comprehensive guide for depressed people.

Good job.

It's hard to find an audiobook or even book on depression that is neither a long anecdote nor a dry, clinical study. This audiobook is both honest and objective, profoundly affecting and challenging, personal and practical. I gained valuable knowledge of how I can process through my own depression and how I can explain to someone else. Often, one of the most challenging aspects of dealing with depression is the frustration of not being able to adequately convey it to someone who doesn't suffer from it. I think I will refer them to this book from now on!

An excellent job speaking about ways to deal.

Dealing with depression is never easy but it can be done, and the author has done an excellent job speaking about ways to deal with it! No one is immune from this disease no one! Not sportsmen, not a scientist, not even a nurse or doctor psychologist, but how we deal with it matters! And Anthony Glenn did a great job to explain the nature of depression in his audiobooks "How to Heal Your Soul" and "Nature of Depression".
Can be recommended for listening by sufferers from depression and just curious who want to know basic things about depression.

It is great listening with good explanations.

"Nature of Depression" is the same useful audiobook as "Nature of Panic Attack," my previous book by A. Glenn I started with. It is great listening with good explanations. I have already started feeling better one week into starting some of the practices from the "Nature of Panic Attack." I didn't know about such simple technics as "breathing into/out of the bag" and simple "chewing gum method," that could be used as a practice to change the focus and decrease anxiety. I found "Nature of Depression" easy to read and listen, well written/narrated and organized, and not full of the hype that is found in many self-help books. But most of all, I found it incredibly relevant and useful, lots of well researched/evidenced methods to decrease susceptibility to depression were included in this book. "Nature of Depression" is an excellent audiobook for sufferers from depression and their family members to understand the feelings, processes of healing, and understandings that everything will be just okay. Follow the treatment, give some time, and you will be back into normal life! I can recommend it!

Get help.

While battling depression a person can feel that there are no good choices. A key thing that helps a person in those times is hope, even a glimmer of faith can be more powerful than medication. With this audiobook, the listener is taken through the major issues with depression and given some hope for the future.
Depression is a severe disorder and should be treated by psychologists, psychiatrists, and general practitioners. Don't go at this alone. Get help, and read or listen to books like this one. It can make a significant difference in the treatment of this very treatable disorder.

Excellent for listen!

I found this audiobook to be excellent for listening. It gives a thorough account of the subject matter(depression, the different types, etc.) along with listing easy to follow steps to start to recover, but also always advises the listener to consult a medical physician first and foremost. This book is very insightful and has the potential not only to enlighten the reader but to change their lives and those around them as well. I would highly & strongly recommend this book.

This audiobook has been very useful to me.

This audiobook has been very useful to me. I would highly recommend to anyone dealing with depression and searching for a way to help themselves return to a full and happy life. I had been doing meditation and listened to audiobooks, and it helped me go just a bit further and feel a lot better. I would strongly recommend the author's other audiobooks, "Mental Hygiene: How to Change Your Mind" and "How to Heal your Soul: Your Path to Peace of Mind" to use in conjunction with your treatment. It goes into greater detail and helped me understand depression and my place even better.
