Story
Rae Earl's hysterically funny and very touching real-life 1989 diary. If Adrian Mole had a teenage sister, she'd sound like this. It's 1989, and Rae Earl is a fat, boy-mad 17-year-old girl, living with her mum and their deaf white cat in a council house with a mint-green bathroom suite and a kitchen Rae can't keep away from. This is the hilarious real-life diary she kept during that fateful year - with characters like her evil friend Bethany; Bethany's besotted boyfriend; and the boys from the school up the road.

Story
It's All in Your Head is a comprehensive, positive and wise guide to mental health - a subject that directly affects one in four of us each year and indirectly affects millions more. Nonreverential and darkly funny, the audiobook aims to take mental health discussions out of the margin and make them mainstream and accessible. Rae Earl, author of My Mad Fat Diary, writes about her own experiences and speaks to teens and young people about theirs.

Story
When a Republican party wins the general election, they strip the royal family of everything and send them to live on a housing estate in the Midlands. Exchanging caviar for boiled eggs, servants for a social worker named Trish, the queen and her family learn what it means to be poor among the great unwashed. Is their breeding sufficient to allow them to rise above their changed circumstance, or deep down are they really just like everyone else?

Meet Adrian Mole, a hapless teenager providing an unabashed, pimples-and-all glimpse into adolescent life. Writing candidly about his parents' marital troubles, the dog, and his life as a tortured poet and 'misunderstood intellectual', Adrian's painfully honest diary is still hilarious and compelling reading thirty years after it first appeared.

Where can a tin of tuna buy you clean clothes? Which British education system struggles with 50 percent illiteracy? Where do teetotal Muslims attend AA meetings? Where is it easier to get 'spice' than paracetamol? Welcome to Her Majesty's Prison Service, a creaking and surreal world that has been left to rot for decades in the shadows of polite society. Like most people, documentary-maker Chris Atkins didn't spend much time thinking about prisons. But after becoming embroiled in a dodgy scheme to fund his latest film, he was sent down for five years.

The misadventures of Tallulah Casey…the hilarious new series from the Queen of Teen. Laugh your tights off at the (very) amateur dramatic antics of Talullah and her bonkers mates. Boys, snogging and bad acting guaranteed! Picture the scene: Dother Hall performing arts college somewhere Up North, surrounded by rolling dales, bearded cheesemaking villagers (male and female), and wildlife of the squirrely type. On the whole, it’s not quite the showbiz experience Tallulah was expecting.

Now, in her first-ever book, Laura recounts how she went from being a dangerously impulsive, broke, unemployable, suicidal, cocaine-addicted narcissist, crippled by fear and hopping from one toxic romance to the next...to a more-happy-than-not, somewhat rational, meditating, vegan yogi with good credit, a great marriage, a fantastic career nand four unfortunate-looking rescue animals.

To the children, the town was their whole world. To the adults, knowing better, Derry, Maine, was just their hometown: familiar, well ordered for the most part. A good place to live. It was the children who saw - and felt - what made Derry so horribly different. In the storm drains, in the sewers, IT lurked, taking on the shape of every nightmare, each one's deepest dread. Sometimes IT reached up, seizing, tearing, killing....

Alice is turning 30 and is stuck in a rut. Her friends are all coupling up and settling down, while she's still working as a temp, trying (and failing) not to shag her terrible ex, getting thrown out of clubs, and accidentally sexting her boss.... She decides to throw caution to the wind and jets off on a round-the-world adventure to #FindTheFun and find herself. Of course, she's no more likely to find the answer to true happiness on the beach in Thailand than she is at the electric beach in Tooting, but at least in Thailand there's paddleboard yoga.

Summary
Volume two of Rae Earl's hilarious teenage diaries chronicles her all-important final year of high school...but how can school compete with more pressing crises like romance, her looks and a crazy family life?
Rae Earl is about to enter the most important year of her life - her actual bloody final year of school. But how the hell can she concentrate on that when it looks like the love of her life, Haddock, may be about to seriously do it with her?
The thing is...is she ready? What if she's actually meant to be with Battered Sausage? And are either of these boys really that interested in her at all?
She's certainly not getting any thinner; in fact she's getting fatter. Every time she thinks of her final exams, she has to have another biscuit. Or five. And it's very difficult to concentrate on anything when her mum's Moroccan boyfriend is singing along to the radio in Arabic....

Nice concept but went nowhere
I feel a bit torn on this one. One part of me loves that it’s all authentic and real and I do ultimately like the end message. The bigger part of me thinks it’s just a little depressing and, at times (through no fault of the author), triggering. The first book had more adventure and discovery whereas this one did drag for me. There was no villain to hate like Bethany this time and no clear way out from the mental demons Ray faces. Of course, this is because it’s real and these things take time.
Unfortunately I think the ending was quite abrupt and anti-climatic but glad to hear the author’s found her peace and glad she shared her story

Way Different Than the TV Series but Just as Good
Would you consider the audio edition of My Madder Fatter Diary to be better than the print version?
It's difficult to say, as you get different things from the print version. In print it is more like reading a real diary but the audio version brings the characters to life, particularly because of the authentic accent.
What did you like best about this story?
The honesty, really describing what Rae feels inside. It is very comforting to know that others are not as together as they outwardly appear.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
Can't choose, all good!
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It was spot on.
Any additional comments?
Great read, great listen!
