Summary

Some family secrets shouldn't stay buried....

Music professor Gus LeGarde and his wife, Camille, are looking forward to a relaxing vacation at Paines Creek Beach on beautiful Cape Cod. But Gus barely has a chance to feel the sand between his toes before a near-miss car accident drags him right into the middle of a local family feud - and a centuries-old mystery that's begging to be solved.

As Gus is drawn further into the conflict between the Cooks and the McNabbs - two families with a grudge going all the way back to colonial times - he and Camille keep uncovering more questions than answers. Where is the long-lost Cook family treasure? What's really wrong with Beckett, the McNabb-side member who's the father of young Jane Cook's son? And who's telling the truth about Beckett and Jane's clandestine relationship: Jane's grandfather, surly patriarch Albert Cook; or Beckett's slightly odd parents?

Before long, mounting tension gives way to true danger as people start vanishing. And in the middle of a fast-brewing hurricane, Gus discovers the real secret at the heart of the feud: someone who will stop at nothing to make sure their side wins. Including murder.

Packed with shocking twists, exciting action, and fascinating tales of family lore and pirate treasure, Murder on the Brewster Flats is the first LeGarde Mysteries crossover novel with award-winning author Aaron Paul Lazar's popular Paines Creek Beach series. Don't miss this installment!

a other wonderful audiobook from the pen of Aaron Paul Lazar and brilliantly narrated by Pete Milan.

I love the fact that all the books by Mr Lazar are stand alone but this one is extra special with its cross over to another of his series, it was just like visiting old friends xxxxxx

From Cape Cod with Love?

Coming from the bayside of Cape Cod, I know the area well. A nice relaxing vacation, a treasure hunter, fried clams and a flying corvette?? Great way to haul you into the beginning of this mystery. Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story. The narrator was excellent in his voice distinctions for the characters. Loved the entire storyline, young love, star-crossed lovers, murder, lunacy. Every so often a twinge of sadness as something recalled to Gus, the loss of his old dog.
I'll have to play catch up from the beginning of this series. It sort of reads like a Spenser, or Brady Coyne or JW Jackson novel. A story about someone you may already know.

Greatly enjoyed this book

This book truly stands alone. I have not read any other books by Aaron Paul Lazar. If this is your first look at the series there is no need to read the others first. After listening to this book, I will have to look for more books written by this author.
The characters were well developed and very interesting people. The story line is well written. The vacation turns into a mystery for Gus and Camille. I really enjoyed this story tremendously!

The narrator, Pete Milan did a great job. This story was so easy to listen to thanks to his narration.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

a nice, relaxing vacation on Cape Cod...

A nice relaxing vacation on Cape Cod...Ummm NO! Gus and his wife, Camille, have been looking forward to a much needed vacation in Paines Creek Beach, Cape Cod. The music professor has a penchant for solving mysteries but this time he plans to do nothing but relax. Except, fate doesn't seem to have gotten that memo and, after a near-miss car accident, and saving the young driver, Gus is reeled in to solve a mystery! Lost treasure, centuries old family feud, hurricane and murder all lead to a very busy vacation. Great HEA and great job by the 'new-to-me' narrator. Now I have to catch up on the earlier mysteries!!

You can't judge a book by its cover!

People aren't always what they seem to be; some even diabolical!

The characters are well-developed and believable. Can't help rooting for them to find the treasure.

Pete Milan does a great job narrating.

I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator or publisher in exchange for an unbiased review via audiobookboom com.

An Adventure with Multiple Mysteries!

This is such a good audiobook! Gus and Camille LeGarde are back and go on a vacation to Paines Creek Beach in Cape Cod. They just want to spend time at the beach, dine out, relax, and enjoy alone time together. But adventure comes into their lives once again. They meet local people through circumstances and become embroiled in their troubled lives. The possibility of discovering pirate treasure adds a mysterious element.

This audiobook is packed with adventure and mystery! Gus and Camille meet new friends and also characters from the Paines Creek Beach series. I liked the crossover. Danger abounds. I could hardly wait to hear what would happen next and if they would survive. I appreciated several mysteries being woven into the plot. Of course a new villain is encountered!

Author Aaron Paul Lazar is such a wonderful writer! Narrator Pete Milan has a nice voice and gives an excellent performance too. I would highly recommend this audiobook to others.

Another intense adventure

It seems Gus and Camille cannot seem to avoid adventure even on vacation. This is another great mystery. The two vacationers put their heads and skills together to unravel a centuries old mystery and a family feud that has lingered through several generations. Characters from some of his other books are introduced here as well. Just enough tease that it means there are more spellbinding mysteries in my future.

I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and have voluntarily left this review.
