Thoughtful, darkly gripping... Watson is, unsurprisingly, brilliant on the reality of working in the NHS, and the strain and reality of the trio's jobs (Olivia is a surgeon, Laura an air ambulance doctor, Anjali a GP) is brought to riveting life. She is also excellent on betrayal, female friendships and family, and what we might do to protect it. I was so caught up in it all I had to flick ahead to the end to calm myself down. I don't recommend doing that - but I do recommend Moral Injuries. (Alison Flood)

Listened to this as I had listened to Christie Watson's quilt on fire, which made me laugh and cry. This story, although fiction, has elements of the truth of being human. Great suspense story, with twisting plot.

I was so looking forward to this book, but despite the glowing newspaper reviews, I found it disappointing and far fetched. I almost gave up halfway through, but I stick with it….i shouldn’t have.

Not What I Was Hoping For

I'd read quite a few glowing online reviews of this title. I appreciate the reader (Jo from Spooks), and as I'm trying to listen to more modern fiction, thought I'd give it a go. However, it was SO turgid I decided to give up after a few hours. The build-up to the 'what happened in the past' felt very contrived and downright annoying in its' drawn-out hints. Overly sentimental and just too 'breathy' for me. I usually try to keep on going but decided that life is too short....
