Loved every bit of it. Couldn’t stop listening what a life and that’s only ten years of it! Great narration too !

Great narrative and love to hear Moonies posh accent!

If it were 2024 Keith Moon would clearly be diagnosed as neurodivergent & definitely on the spectrum. This story penned by his PA & confident is a great listen. Narrated in a South London accent which conjures up the inner voice of The Who. Great tales, well told, laugh out loud funny but not unsympathetic to a troubled man. This is not a Who biography off that’s what you’re looking for. My only reservation is the book is written in the language of the time (60’s/70’s) - different times I realise, but I’m not sure the constant negative references to women of the story as ‘bints’, ‘scrubbers’ & ‘tarts’ (which may have been the language of the day) was entirely necessary & grated on me. That aside I would thoroughly recommend a listen.

Rip roaring first hand insight of a flawed genius

This book is purely for those people who wish to know more about or relish in the crazy antics of one of the world’s best drummers. For those people who would prefer a more rounded biographical work, then please look elsewhere. Little is said about Keith Moon’s talents, work or even psychological make up. This book is pure drunken escapades and unbelievable lunacy. That being said I loved it! Karl Howman does a great job of narrating the book, even if he sounds sometimes like he is deliberately and carefully articulating his words in long sentences- maybe the guy just wants to be perfect. Howman’s impersonations are quite good and his accent perfectly compliments the narration.
Loved this book, will listen to it again when I need a two finger salute to conventionality. Awesome!
