Story
Ben Timberlake has spent a lifetime in pursuit of the ultimate rush. This is an account of his near-execution in wartime Yugoslavia, his time in the SAS, combat in Iraq, encounters with a gambling-obsessed 9/11 hijacker, veterans blissed out on MDMA, as well as exploring hook-ups in the world of extreme sex and battling a heroin habit on a remote Scottish island. In this pilgrimage on the road of excess Ben looks at the social, biological, religious and personal factors that drive people to the edge and has a whole lot of fun along the way.

Story
Black Americans have long been shackled to the Democrats. Seeing no viable alternative, they have watched liberal politicians take the Black vote for granted without pledging anything in return. In Blackout, Owens argues that this automatic allegiance is both illogical and unearned. She contends that the Democrat Party has a long history of racism and exposes the ideals that hinder the Black community’s ability to rise above poverty, live independent and successful lives, and be an active part of the American dream.

Story
In the predawn hours of March 4, 2002, just below the 10,000-foot peak of a mountain in eastern Afghanistan, a fierce battle raged. Outnumbered by Al Qaeda fighters, Air Force Combat Controller John Chapman and a handful of SEALs struggled to take the summit in a desperate bid to find a lost teammate. Chapman, leading the charge, was gravely wounded in the initial assault. Believing he was dead, his SEAL leader ordered a retreat. Chapman regained consciousness, alone with the enemy closing in on three sides, beginning the most difficult and exceptional fight of his life.

Thanks to the mangled remains of a Jackal vehicle left tactlessly outside their tent, IEDs were never far from their mind. Within days they’d be on the ground in Musa Qala with the rest of 3 Platoon - a mixed bunch of men Gez would die for.

Story
Things I’ll Never Forget is the story of a young high school graduate in 1965 who faces being drafted into the Army or volunteering for the Marine Corps. These are his memories of funny times, disgusting times and deadly times. The author kept a journal for an entire year; therefore many of the dates, times and places are accurate. The rest is based on memories that are forever tattooed on his brain. This is not a pro-war book, nor is it anti-war. It is the true story of what the Marine Corps was like in the late 1960’s.

Summary
From FOX & Friends Weekend cohost Pete Hegseth comes a collection of inspiring stories from 15 of America’s greatest heroes - highly decorated Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, marines, Purple Heart recipients, combat pilots, a Medal of Honor recipient, and more - based on FOX Nation’s hit show of the same name.
After three Army deployments - earning two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman’s Badge - Pete Hegseth knows what it takes to be a modern warrior. In Modern Warriors, he presents candid, unfiltered conversations with fellow modern warriors and digs for real answers to key questions like: What inspired them to serve? What is their legacy? What does sacrifice really mean to them? How do they handle loss? And what can civilians learn from this latest generation of veterans?
From the skies over Afghanistan to the seas of the Mediterranean to the treacherous streets of Iraq, these brave men and women take you inside the firefight, sharing the harrowing realities of war. Hegseth uses their experiences to facilitate conversations about the raw truths of combat, including the difficulties of transitioning back home, while also celebrating these soldiers’ contributions to preserving our nation’s most precious gift - freedom.
These stories provide an unvarnished representation of battlefield leadership, military morale, and the strain of war. This book is the perfect for anyone who wants to know what it means, and what it truly takes, to be a patriot.

My take away.
My take away. The amazing stories about service in the military and what it’s like to come back to the world. The experiences of the lady Air force aviation specialist and the black man that was a Ranger sniper and being them being some first in their fields and their treatment needs to told from their viewpoint. Addressing their viewpoints on sex and race, society is like a new child learning to walk. Society will stumble and fall and pick itself up and keep on going preferably to the advantage of all. Note to Pete, any book that makes me laugh pays for itself. Great book you might try to do some more of these.

Evan's Review
Great books. Real modern warriors. What makes this book great is the real characters tell there stories of battles and the men and women they worked with. The whole inrerwinding story though out the book is the team and brotherhood they had with one another. Each give the team the credit for their success. What is interested even though they were warriors each had issues returning to civilian life and the struggles they face. Pete does a good job at narration throughout the book. I enjoyed the book so much I ordered a hard copy to let my friends read. I will then donate it to my local library.
