I thought I was fairly conversant in inclusion and certainly part of the solution. I’m now aware of all the ‘harmless’ things I realise I’ve been doing/saying over the years. Privately educated, I have regularly thought other less fortunate people “maybe just weren’t trying hard enough”. As a white, straight, male, I’m now conscious that part of the success I enjoy today is simply down to the cards I was dealt at birth. Whether you’re an employer, a parent (or anyone really), if you really want to understand what it feels like to stand in the shoes of someone different to you (whilst taking the temperature of your own inclusiveness), this book is for you. Thank you to the author for taking so much time to create a roadmap to a richer world.
