Summary

Nick Hall returns in a riveting standalone thriller, set in a stunning future that is rapidly approaching. From the New York Times best-selling author whose books have been downloaded over a million times.

Nick Hall has revolutionary electronics implanted in his brain that allow him to read minds - including thoughts, memories, and even intent. He can know the passwords, future strategies, and innermost secrets of anyone he chooses, making him the most formidable man alive. But his status as the only mind reader in the world is about to change...

Soon, Hall is fighting for his life as he races to stop an unimaginably despicable terror plot. But his problems are only beginning. Because when a member of his inner circle betrays him, and the secret to mind reading leaks out, he is forced to wage war against a merciless mind reader of nearly unequaled brilliance. One who will stop at nothing to kill Hall, his colleagues, and the woman he loves. And one who is intent on ushering in a dramatic transformation of the human species - even at the cost of billions of lives.

Based on actual research on computer-assisted mind reading, Mind War is a roller-coaster ride of a thriller. One that raises a number of intriguing possibilities about a future that is just around the corner.

Hokey narrator style

This story was definitely thought-provoking and interesting, but the narrator's hokey delivery style ruined it for me. Won't listen to another with that narrator.

Excellent read

Another masterpiece by the author of this thought provoking series. A great read for anyone interested in direction technology is taking us now and in the very near future.

Thought-provoking reading

I have truly enjoyed each of the Nick Hall books. They stretch my imagination and make me really think. I like the recap at the end of what is real and what is still just imagination. Nick is a likable, if unlikely hero. Victor is a nemesis worthy of respect, despite his flawed outlook. I love that the ending leaves just enough loose ends to leave me eager for a next installment in the series, without feeling as though I was left hanging. Overall, this is an entertaining series.

Series continues with great writting and action

This series is best taken in order. Some of the plot is more deus ex machina situations, but still wortht the time.

A Bit Too Predictable

I love Douglas E. Richards, but found this book (third in it's series) predictable throughout.

Narration Failed

This was the worst narration I have encountered in an audio book! I am amazed that this narrator has done so many books. His character voices were terrible and did not fit the story at all. The book was very enjoyable, but I will make a point to check the narrator before I buy another audio book to make sure it isn’t this one. One reviewer called it “hokie”; he or she was being kind.

Fascinating story well-told

Continuing the story of a world where certain people can read the thoughts of others, using their talents for good or for evil. Keeps your interest.

Incredible!

You can read this book as a stand alone, but believe me, you want to read Mind's Eye and Brain Web first. This is Nick Hall's third, may it not be his last, trial by fire. That being ESP. He, his girlfriend, and his team fight for our country and each other in amazing ways. But this book should also make you sit back and think about our future.
