Summary

Million Love Songs is the brand new Sunday Times best-selling sensation from the queen of laugh-out-loud, feel-good fiction.

Ruby Brown is ready for a change.

She's single for the first time in years and she's going to dive into this brave new world with a smile on her face and a spring in her step. The last thing she's looking for is a serious relationship.

Mason represents everything Ruby wants right now: he's charming, smooth and perfect for some no-strings-attached fun. Joe on the other hand is kind and attractive, but comes with the sort of baggage Ruby wants to avoid: an annoyingly attractive ex-wife and two teenage children.

Ruby thinks she knows what she wants, but is it what she needs to be truly happy? It's about to get emotional in Million Love Songs.

Bit dissapointed

I love Carols books, however I just felt this story kept going round in circles with a bit of a quiet ending. Sorry Carol. It won't put me off as I have loved all your previous books I've read.

Thank you Carole for such an amazing book, I have listened to it several times, the words are brought to life by the narrator.
The story has lots of twists and turns. Beautifully written and very engaging story.

Bridget Jones?

Lovely book and written well but it is very close to being Bridget Jones. Even down to how Ruby’s boss calls her ‘Brown’.

Still enjoyed it but was perhaps dragged out a little too long.

Fantastic!

I absolutely loved listening to this book. Towards the end I found myself longing for time alone to listen to Ruby's next move. At one point I was moved to tears and others I was grinning from ear to ear. This is a story of enduring friendship as well as love and sex, there's sex, quite a bit of, but thankfully nothing in lurid detail. I don't need to hear all about that.

I loved this book, the humour, the Take That references, ( I have friends that go to their concerts), Ruby's best friend Charley and of course Ruby who could be anyone of us.

Brilliant!!

A beautiful love story

Chick lit has been genre of choice for 20 years and this is one of the best I’ve heard so far. It’s also the only audio book that has left me on the edge of happy tears.

By the end of it the characters felt like old friends and it’s so easy to find yourself sucked into Ruby’s world. I could identify with her and sincerely wish that I had a best friend like Charlie.

The book isn’t your usual mushy love story, the twists and turns are what make it feel real.

Will definitely listen to this one again and try and track down all of Ms Matthews books in future. Thank you.

Who to do next

Easy reading with no massively complicated storyline. I think the title would be more suited with” The diary of a 38 year old slapper / bosses booty call “ as that was basically the thrust of the story . Just my opinion !
