I'm the kind of person who notices things like the way words are pronounced, and the number of mispronunciations from this narrator are irritatingly numerous. First and foremost, the name of the main character is mispronounced "Michael" like the boy's name. Narrator, if you are reading this, PLEASE just Google "how to pronounce Michal" and you will see it is supposed to be "MEEHHAAL". Stupid easy mispronunciations such as "pestle" are mispronounced "pestel" rather than "pessle". She also can't make up her mind whether it's "Philisteens" or "Philistynes".
If you're getting paid to narrate any historical story, please for the love of God, take the time to find out how to pronounce the foreign words!!!

The mispronunciations!!!

I have always wondered why Michal was so bitter. This story brings her to life and one can empathise with her.

Beautiful story

I listened because this was free and I did not know what else to listen to at the time. I dislike Michal anyway from what I knew of her from the Bible, and she didn't disappoint! What a nasty woman. It is however one of the best depictions of King David I have so far read, showing his love for YHWH, his strength, mercy and humility and faithfulness to his friend Jonathan. The narrator was very good but there were a number of odd pronunciations of places and names which was a bit off putting. It would have been far better to use the Hebrew pronunciations in my opinion, particularly for Michal which really grated on my nerves throughout (ie. Mee-chh-aal instead of My-cle). But it was beautifully written and I felt very sorry for Paltiel. I enjoyed it very much, even though I am not a fan of Michal and her prideful arrogance. Women did get a bad deal back in those times however, and the customs sometimes seem harsh to us now.

I surprisingly enjoyed it and recommend it
