Not much to say about the book. It is considered one of the best works of Vernes. My problem is with the narration. It does not sound like a human at all. I can only describe it like the voice from very old documentaries (early '80s). It is boring, monotonous and tiring to the ears.

Sounds like a robot is reading it

Normally I enjoy narrators who change their voices for different characters but this one is sadly just plain annoying. Most character voices are falsetto-ish for some obscure reason and I have no idea what the accents are supposed to be.
The story itself is enjoyable though, if occasionally a bit too heavy on geographical details.

Great story but annoying narrator
