as good as the stories

The story is always 4-5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, I’m over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Mercy Hills Fluff

The Mercy Hills Pack series is an omegaverse wolf shifter series set in the contemporary world. The series has an overarching plot that spans all the books, however, each book focuses on the romance of different wolf shifters as they struggle to find happiness in a world full of obstacles. It is an amazing series with an incredibly intricate plot and fantastic character development.

This bundle of short stories focuses on characters from the first the first three books: Mac and Jason, Abel and Bax, and Duke and Bram. It also has a cute multi-chapter short story featuring a Canadian pack and their celebration of Midwinter festivities, which gives us an inside look at what a healthy pack looks like—one that hasn’t been forced to live behind walls and beaten down by human prejudice. The stories all adorable and full fluff and feel good emotions. Technically you don’t have to have read any other Mercy Hills Pack books to understand these short stories, but I think you will miss a lot if you don’t read the first three at least.

Nick J. Russo narrates this audiobook. He’s been the main narrator for all the Mercy Hills Pack series books and has mastered the voices and personalities of all the characters. He’s does a wonderful job narrating these short stories. The audiobook production was well done and there were no glitches that would ruin the listening experience.

A jewel...

This collection of short stories in the world of Mercy Hills is wonderful. Every single one of them fulfilled a spot in one of the books in the series, described a romantic, or sweet anecdote about some of the characters or is just a teaser for more adventures in the future. I strongly recommend reading this book after finishing the series, to fully enjoy the completeness it brought to the rest of the books. When you add to the mix, the great voice acting of Nick J Russo and his smooth and captivating narration style you got this amazing book, a jewel of the combined work of Ms Byrde and Mr Russo. A must have...

A collection filled with love and heart

Anything written by AKB in the Mercy Hills world is worth reading (and listening). And Nick J Russo’s narration — sheer delight.

First, there’s Mac’s gift. It’s one of the sweetest story — how Mac conspired to make Jason have a day of rest. My heart just melts listening to the story!

Then, there’s Abel’s quality time with his step-son Fan. It’s the little things — the mundane things — that shines in AKB’s hands. Father and son bonding, a boy figuring out what he likes — looking up and imitating his newly acquired father who definitely deserves the title of one of the best fathers you can have. The story brings me a joy of a different kind but no less sweet.

Duke and Bram was next and as usual you just have to chuckle and shake your head over what Duke has to go through because Bram managed to forget his class papers that were due that day at home. The incredible love behind Duke’s odyssey to get his two children and himself to Bram’s campus is noteworthy! Bram is so lucky!

Last but not least, we meet the Canadian wolves and what their lives are like in rather too cold a climate they live in. It was entirely mundane -- as we get to know more about the mythology of the wolves through a school play staged as part of their mid-winter festival and how their families take care of each other. A very cozy Xmas story.

This is a short story collection — they are short but they are worth listening again and again. I listened to it twice in a month (the second time because I just wanted comfort). I love the characters, their stories, and their familial and romantic love.

Also, you cannot go wrong with Nick J Russo’s voice sounding soothing and sweet and just the perfect voice to fall into the stories.

Short and Sweet

This collection of short stories set in the Mercy Hills omegaverse is great for when you have short blocks of time to listen. There is a few stories featuring well loved characters. Also, one where we get an intriguing glimpse at a Canadian pack's holiday celebration.
