Summary

'Twas the night before Catmas...

For soothsayer Journi McCutcheon, last-minute holiday shopping with her grandmother is no winter wonderland. Especially when the wily, wand-wielding old witch declares war on Santa in the middle of a crowded mall to the tune of jingle bells, wailing children, and shouting security guards.

And that's just the tip of the magical mistletoe.

When the discovery of a kitten triggers a disturbing vision that promises tragedy for a local family, Journi and Gramma Jude must put Kris Kringle's would-be slaying on ice to save Christmas.

Before someone's halls really get decked.

Meowy Christmas, Ya Filthy Animal is a laugh-out-loud, stand-alone holiday novella set in the magical world of the Hissing Booth Chronicles - Gemma Thorne's best-selling urban fantasy series.

Can Journi set aside her distaste for both cats and kids to perform a Christmas purracle? Purchase today and find out.

Fantastic narrator! But...

Meowy Christmas, Ya Filthy Animal was an interesting listen. While it's a novella featured within a series, it completely stands on its own, and thanks to the shortness of the story, not many characters are thrown in there (thus, one is able to keep track of all the main ones). //

The narrator is fantastic and nails every single one of the voices, especially the granny's Southern accent as well as Journi's sarcasm and attitude. Needless to say, the nuances are on point, from whispers to yells and of course, meows ;) //

Having said all this, the reason why they were chasing Santa all along was a big turn off for me when it was revealed, and hence, I think I can only recommend this story/series to fans of the author and/or this kind of humor and content within the genre. (Nothing's explicit but there's plenty of innuendo/references to a past relationship "during the 60s").
