Summary

They call me the sugar whisperer.

Anything your tongue desires, I can bake it. Scones? Child's play. Cupcakes? I'll frost them so good you won't know what hit you. Donuts? Please!

You're talking to a master baker.

But there's one egg I've never been able to crack.

My best friend.

Correction: my former best friend.

She's the apple in my pie. The whip in my cream. The lemon in my meringue. The wish in my bone. She's the one who got away.

After ten years in the military, she's back. She's bruised and battered by life, but she's back. Except, she's not my second chance. She's gone to the dark side. Running a rival bakery in a town not big enough for two.

So, now I have to decide - which do I want more?

My bakery?

Or the woman I never should've let go in the first place?

Master Baker is a deliciously fun friends-to-enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy featuring a smooth-talking baker, the one who got away, and a goat with more matchmaking tendencies than a nosy old grandpa. It stands alone with no cheating or cliff-hangers.

Brilliant fun

I loved this book when I first read it, love it even more in this version. The pirates, the parrots, the Berger twins and the situations they're dealing with . The narrators do a fantastic job. live the extras at the end, dont miss them

Okay

This is one of those audiobooks where the narrators are better than the story! Sweet story but quite frankly boring, absolutely no plot and to be honest it just went on and on and on. Sweet but I could’ve done without it.

Very sweet, simple romance

Limited drama and a very easy to listen to romance. Not for deep thinking but a pleasant escape.

Not my favorite

I have really enjoyed a lot of Pippa's books but this one was kind of disappointing. I felt like it was kind of whiny and some of the extra characters were really annoying. Listening to a whole book where everyone is repeatedly called a shithead or an asshole is not really my idea of fun. Usually I really am up for anything but I found myself just waiting for this book to be done.

Disappointed

I normally love Pippa Grant books but I thought this one was boring and I had to force myself to finish it. The narrators did a good job but I thought the the rivalry between the two cities was carried too far and rather ridiculous. I highly recommend the author, just not this book.

talk dirty to your batter

While this isn't my top favorite by Pippa Grant, I loved it none the less! loved the dirty talk....even if it was to the batter/cookie dough. Sue was awesome and I love the crazy animals/pets in her books. definitely recommend this book for an easy read.

You just gotta love this book!

As you have come to expect from a Pippa Grant book, this one will steal your heart. In this funny, romance you will find a potty mouthed parrot, a matchmaker goat, 2 towns full of pride and attitudes, 2 families full of love and support and 1 couple who just belong together. So buy your copy, sit back in a comfy chair and get ready for love, laughter and great freinds.

second chances never tasted so good

Greeeeaaat choices in narrators! They did they characters justice. Who doesn't love a man that bakes and talks dirty to his creations? Who can't love a woman who is trying to making sure her mama's dreams come true even after a tragedy hits her? No one, that's who. Anika is strong willed, competitive, hard working and trying to hold on to the last piece of her sanity as she helps her mama and little sister open their bakery. Brady used to be her best friend, her chocolate chip cookie baker, her confidant until he asked her to give up her dreams for him without considering her needs and waiting until the last second to confess this to her. Both hurt, both missing a piece of their heart and both fighting to make their respected bakeries the best, battling each other for the title. Expected a lot of pent up chemistry waiting to boil over, kitchen mishaps, a goat matchmaker, and a lot of feeling as these two stubborn people battle each other, try to protect their hearts and survive a century or two years old town rivalries. l Loved Anika and Grady's story and the narrators did a great job of these characters!

Holy brownie batter sexy times!

I will never bake again without listening to Grady and Annika talk dirty to ingredients and each other. Holy brownie batter sexy times! Master Baker is all the things!! It's very sweet, often hilarious, and super hot! Narration is expertly done by Jason and Virginia, two of my auto-buy favorites. Well worth the credit!
