I had a serious burnout a few years ago. I felt like I was attempting to push treacle uphill while I was being struck with blow after blow. I changed from being a high-functioning individual who handled everything with ease to someone who dreaded waking up every morning and I just couldn’t wait till it was time to crawl back into bed and pull the covers over my head. How much suffering would have been prevented if only I had come across this audiobook sooner!

Amna Mahasi does an excellent job of describing more than just the signs and repercussions of living a frantic and busy life, she offers an array of valuable tactics and solid advice to help regain control and set yourself on the path to a better, more fulfilling and happier life. I've learned so much about recognizing and dealing with stress since listening to this book and I now have the coping mechanisms I need to combat any future pressures.

Rosamund Hine's soothing narration complements the subject matter perfectly and I wholeheartedly recommend this superb audiobook to anyone who worries that events may start to spiral out of their control and who seeks to put practical measures in place to ensure that they will be able to cope and ultimately prevail.

The audiobook is nicely paced and easy to follow. I greatly appreciate that it goes over the importance of setting healthy boundaries and how it’s crucial that we improve our communication skills to better establish our needs. It was interesting quickly learning about different food items that can play a part in how our energy is regulated (depending on your body). If there’s ever an edit or another book added to this as a series, I would also love to learn more about the eco-therapy mentioned. The other sections seemed to have gone more in-depth about their respective stress-relieving strategies, but I caught myself wanting to learn a lot more about this particular portion, especially since I listened to the audiobook mostly during my daily walks. The topic is definitely on my radar now. Other than that, I really enjoyed it. Worthy of referencing back to every now and again.

I really needed this book. I have a busy work / personal life and a lot of the time i feel burned out, which both affects myself and the people around me. Between gym, work, rugby training, partner and other commitments life can get crazy, and this book has helped to just take a step back and relax. Great tips and tricks that you can use daily to help you ease the mind and slow down and also to stop beating yourself up all the time. Great book
