About this listen

What would you do if you found yourself cast 22 years into the future, into a world where your home is no longer your home, and you've been declared legally dead? This is the situation that Daniel Fisher finds himself in, at the beginning of this latest installment in The Time Bubble series.

Stranded in the future, in a place where his outdated currency is worthless, things go from bad to worse for Dan very quickly. Before long, he finds himself incarcerated in a secure psychiatric unit, and his hopes of ever returning to the past looking bleak.

Elsewhere, Josh has unlocked the secrets of the time bubbles and can now freely travel in time. He returns to the scene of past encounters, as well as travelling to the future to join Peter on his adventures through time.

But has he been careful enough to prevent others from discovering his secrets?

Man out of Time is the third novel in The Time Bubble series. The story continues with Splinters in Time. A fifth volume, Class of '92, was released in December 2018. A spin-off series, Second Chances, is also available.

As with other reviews, the narration was definitely the worst of the three Time Bubble books I've listened to so far. The characterization, particularly Charlie, was completely out with the feel of the books. Lee Beddow and Perdita Lawton would have smashed this!

I see we have another narrator for the fourth installment, so hopefully an improvement.

The story was great though and luckily it is strong enough to keep me going with the series.

I have ng we have many more twists and turns in time to go yet!

Luckily The Story Is Strong Enough

But there were times I couldn't understand the narrator Too strong of an accent to be a narrator

Great story the whole series is good

I’m loving the book series immensely. But the narration is hit and miss. The first book was narrated with no feeling or emphasis. The second was excellent. This one had a narrator who was pompous, character voices were wrong and he sounded as though he’d had several G and Ts before starting. Changing the playback speed to 1.2 made it bearable.

Back to the story. I was pleased to see how the plot developed and there was plenty of humour and excitement.

I’m about to sample the next book. If I like the narrator I’ll download it, else will get it on kindle and read the old fashioned way.

Another great story but narration poor

Having read the entire series of the time bubble books via kindle I knew the story but had given characters my own voices for them to a point. Now experiencing this book as an audiobook I found myself pulled right out of the story every time the narrator read Charlie’s lines of dialogue. Keep in mind that as a character Charlie is literally the same age as Josh, Kayleigh, Lauren and even Dave and yet despite those characters having normal voices, Charlie for some reason speaks with an over sized plum in his mouth sounding like a pompous, rich aristocrat from the 1800s. It’s incredibly distracting and an incredibly poor character choice which pulled me out of the story every time I heard the voice. Other than that I was as kmpressed with this book as much as the others

Great story, however…
