fun short story

I would call this a great second chance romance, not a twist on the fairy tale. However, I enjoyed it and I liked that I got to learn a new fairy tale as the first chapter.
Lots of sex and everyone else in this story was awful except the 2 main characters lol

Narration was fabulous but these are two seasoned pros so I wouldn't expect anything less

Great story

I totally loved this second chance story - as always with Jeanne St James writing the characters are superbly written and well rounded and the story holds a wealth of detail which sucks you into.
A very sexy loving story! it made me smile and it has a huge feel good factor.

Fabulous Story & Narration🎧 Sweet & Enjoyable!

I loved this story and how Jeanne St. James modernized and put her own spin on the classic Grimm fairytale “Maid Maleen”. This is a great second chance romance with interesting storylines and characters that are well developed. Seventeen year old Maleen King was in love with Braydon Daniels, but when her father caught them rolling in the hay he gives her an ultimatum and no choice but to leave the farm only to return after her father passes away. Braydon shows up at the wake and then her Dad’s home so they could talk. They’ve been apart for 14 years but their love for each other never died. Maleen had a successful career in NY but failed at marriage, Braydon became a veterinarian, he too had a failed marriage. Can the two make up for lost time and get it right this time? I loved how their story played out. Jeanne St. James fit a lot of story into her novella sized book, it is enjoyable and will put a smile on your face. Thank you for this sweet story.

I listened to the Audible edition, Jason Clarke and Ava Lucas are wonderful narrators and voice performers. They bring these characters to life, give each their own voice and personality. They put a lot of heart into their performance, you hear the characters emotions and the drama of story story. Each are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Great retelling of this fairytale

This modern day twist on a classic fairytale is endearing. Great characters and lots of chemistry. Written very well, and fantastic performance from both Ava and Jason.

Short and Steamy with great narrators

I really enjoyed the story enough that I'm curious about how this story was adapted from the the original Grimm’s tale (there is a short description in the beginning but that just made me more curious). Mal and Bray were young lovers but her father separated them. 14 years later, they are back together but can they overcome the obstacles that come with time and their pasts? There’s an HEA so there’s your answer! But the journey there was fun, with a good amount of levity and lots of steam. Some angst but given the shortness of the book, any issues were very quickly resolved. I liked that there was an epilogue that tied everything up at the end.

Ava Lucas was good- her male voice was a bit gravelly but I really liked her normal voice because it was easy to listen to with great pacing. Jason Clarke- his voice is perfect and I’m a huge fan of his narration in general; he did a great job with both the male and female characters.

Sweet Sexy Twist on a Fairy Tale

Sweet second chance modern fairy tale that had plenty of heat and sexy times. After her father tore them apart and sent her away Mal and Bray discovered they both still wanted each other 14 years later. They were both so likable and easy to root for. I really enjoyed the 3 hours I spent listening.

I was again reminded how much I love narration from Jason Clarke and Ava Lucas both. They were perfect for the story. This is my first book by Jeanne St James and will check out her other titles.

Good stuff

I enjoyed this story. Her Father tries to do the best for his daughter but breaks hers and her lovers hearts in the process. I loved the strong characters and how they reunited after 14 years. The narration was great I definitely recommend this book.

A Short Sensual Modern Day Fairy Tale

Made Maleen is a sensual modern-day twist on Grim fairy tales and a second-chance romance. The plot is well-developed, and the characters are captivating. Maleen and Braydon's connection is hot, and their chemistry is off the charts. Jeanne St. James is a brilliant author with the ability to charm the readers/listeners. The duel narration by Jason Clarke and Ava Lucas is outstanding; I thoroughly enjoyed their performance.
