Summary

The book is okay but...

The Volume of the guy keeps changing and it's not my phone for its volume control stays put its the volume of the voice in this keeps going from decent to hardly hear him speak.

Beautiful French Classic - good reader

The book is a great French classic; the story is very strong, although it may have aged a bit as it is difficult to really empathise with Emma, the main protagonist, and it is really worth knowing about the historical period in which the story is set.
The beautiful rhythm of the Flaubert's prose is very well served by the very pleasant narration of Alain Lawrence.
One slight issue: the female voices rendered in the falsetto voice sound childish and are distracting..
