Summary

Every second generation of the Hale line dies at the hands of an unnameable monster on his 80th birthday. The current Lord Hale turns 80 this Saturday.

To protect himself, Lord Hale has invited paranormal investigation experts Tempest Michaels and Amanda Harper, plus their friends and a whole host of other guests from different fields of supernatural exploration for a birthday dinner at his mansion.

As they sit down for dinner, the lights start to dim and a moaning noise disturbs the polite conversation.

Has Lord Hale placed his faith in the right people, or has he just led them to share his doom?

Finding themselves trapped, Tempest and Amanda, with friends Big Ben and Patience, must join forces with a wizard, some scientists, occult experts, ghost chasers, witches, and other assorted idiots as they fight to make it through the night in one piece.

Could this be their final adventure? Will Tempest, finally, be proven wrong about the paranormal?

It was okay. Not great, just okay.

I was rather disappointed in this book. Fair play though, the narration was really good.

A fun mystery

I received a promo code in exchange for an honest review I really enjoyed this book, it is a novel length Scooby Doo adventure (Not a criticism I love Scooby Doo) with real murders, It has a creepy house, a monster and bunch of crooks, a gang of paranormal investigators and the classic trap at the end that always works so well. It flows easily and can be read as a standalone, although this is book 13 and starting at book one would save you learning the characters Very good narration. it was smooth and easy to listen too. Perhaps a little weak on some of the dialogue but overall a fun read. Recommended

A great story

I really enjoyed this book. Amanda Harper works for Tempest Michael's Blue Moon detective agency. They receive an invite to Lord Hales mansion. But the dinner turns sinister and Amanda finds herself hiding from a monster that has been haunting the Hales family for years. The narrator sounds exactly how I imagine Amanda would sound. The story keeps you guessing and gripped. Loved it. I received a free copy of this book from the author but the review is my own opinion.

Entertaining!

Lord Hale's Monster is an excellent addition to the Blue Moon Investigation series. The storyline is engaging and entertaining, wrapped in mystery and suspense with loads of twists and turns. Heather Tracy did an outstanding job with the narration, bringing the characters to life. Overall this was an enjoyable listen and will recommend. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook, and my unbiased review is voluntarily given.

A fun mystery

I listened to this book while traveling and thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters are fun and a little quirky. I really loved the two main characters Amanda and Tempest. The narrator does a wonderful job making each character come alive.

Lord Hale's Monster

The Blue Moon Investigative team are invited to celebrate a man's 80th birthday while debunking and saving him from death by a curse. Amanda had invited her best friend and they are keeping this a surprise from Ben. At dinner that evening things start out with a bang and soon the team are in the midst of a mystery and several deaths. Then Tempest is injured and it's up to Amanda to really get forces. The narrator brings each character to life. Fantastic audio and story

Great story.

I received a free audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I jumped into this book without knowing anything about the series, but I feel like this is fine as a stand-alone story. The characters are so diverse and funny and work well together. The story, I liked a lot, mystery mixed with s was little bit of Murder and mayhem and escape room gone wrong. Loved all the Scooby Doo references. Really enjoyed this story.

Lots of characters, lots of fun.

A large cast all gathered together in a spooky manor and all handled very well. I was given this audiobook by the author for free and have voluntarily left this review.

Lots of fun!

At this point I've only read book 4 and this one. This one was much more fun than book 4, and had a different feeling to it. Of course, series do evolve as they go on, but I really feel the difference to this was the narrator and the voice. This was a story told form Harper's point of view, and thus was narrated by a female (who did a great job by the way). I enjoyed book 4 but I really liked this one. In addition, this book was funnier, had more details. What I find strange is that the illustrations on the early books--kind of cartoonish and a kind of bland matte-like colour scheme--do not at all match the covers for the books in kindle format, or this audio cover. Certainly this cover style matches a LOT better, but they don't match one another, or match exactly how the stories feel to me. Off to listen to the first books in kindle version with text-to-speech since I cannot read them visually. I was going to comment in my review (with a spoiler alert) that this had the feeling of an episode of Scooby Doo, yet that actually came up on the book itself so I feel I can say it without the warning. I received a free copy of this book from the author.

Are the monsters real?

Amanda and Tempest are investigators of the paranormal. They are invited to Lord Hale’s house for dinner and to help him escape a curse that has plagued his family for generations. At least that’s the idea going in. There are lots of twists and many things for Amanda to work out. Tempest gets taken out of the action by a concussion and just becomes a supporting character. This was a fun listen. The narrator did a good job. There are some of the characters like Big Ben that I could have done without but I really enjoyed the overall story.

Intriguing little mystery

I totally loved this book and its believable characters. The storyline is descriptive and well written. The twist and turns held me in place till the end. The characters are quirky especially Big Ben he made me laugh. This little mystery was phenomenal and the narrator Heather Tracy did it justice. I highly recommend this book if you love fun funny little mysteries. I received this book at my request and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review here of my own volition.
