Looking for Alibrandi
Summary
Josephine Alibrandi is 17 and in her final year of school. Dealing with her mum and the ways of her Nonna are daunting enough as she prepares for her exams. But Josie is about to discover real life gets in the way of her carefully-made plans. She suddenly has to deal with having her father around for the first time in her life, falling in love, and uncovering her family's secret background. Despite all the turmoil, this is the year Josie discovers that emancipation doesn't mean escaping from your past. Sometimes you need to face up to who you are in order to set yourself free.

An old favourite
I bought this audio book years ago – back when it was still available on tape – and it has become one of my favourites since. I’ve actually listened to it so often that the tapes stretched and I had to re-buy it on audible.
This is a nice coming of age novel, covering all the basis: romance – I’ve harboured a crush on Jacob Coote since my first listening –, the search for social and cultural acceptance and new family relationships and skeletons. Though Josie’s self-righteousness can become a tad irritating on occasion, on the whole she’s a very likable character.
Marcella Russo does an excellent job of narrating the story.

Interesting Concept .. Pointless story
The beginning of the story got me hooked and I was really glad because I wanted a contemporary book about teenage girls problem .. but as I reached the half it lost me .. and it kept losing me until the end .. the story was so pointless and didn't make any sense to me, there are some good quotes I can take from it but as far as the plot goes .. let's just say it wasn't my cup of tea

Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this story. Shorter than what I usually listen to but my friend recommended it to me. It reminded me so much of being a teenager again!
Great book with some interesting twists and turns along the way

I'm so glad I found Alibrandi.
Would you listen to Looking for Alibrandi again? Why?
Definitely.
What did you like best about this story?
The journey. I love stories like this that don't necessarily turn out with the happy ever after ending that you expect. But, the ending is just right. The way it should be.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If I had the time, I would love to listen in one sitting.
Any additional comments?
Anything written by Melinda Marchetta is a must read/listen.

wonderful book but average narration
Would you listen to Looking for Alibrandi again? Why?
No because I found the narration slow and annoying at times.
Any additional comments?
I recommend the book and recommend the audio to all high school students who need a little extra help to get through a set work book.
