Tammy Gallagher found herself obese with high blood pressure and high cholesterol in her mid-20s. She ultimately developed Crohn’s disease after living a very unhealthy life. To be honest, I have to admit that wasn’t super-excited when someone gave me this audiobook.At the age of 37, I don’t think of myself as old or aging, and have always listened to my grandma when she says, “Age is just a number anyway.” And she’s 96, so that philosophy has worked for her.

But within a few minutes of listening, I started to realize that longevity is not something I should assume is hereditary or a goal I should start working towards in my late 60s, but as soon as possible. And much of what Tammy Gallagher shares in her helpful book is not just to help live longer but to live better starting today, preventing disease and making choices that contribute to overall wellness, health, and energy. And those are things I desire for right now, whether or not I am contemplating my golden years on a regular basis.

One thing that really stood out about this book is the quality and quantity of research that went into it. For example, in the chapter about sleep, instead of just telling us that sleep is important and we need to do a better job at getting more and quality sleep, the author spends time sharing scientific facts about why lack of sleep is such a serious issue, the specific effects it has on our bodies and the aging process, and statistical evidence that this is a major problem in modern society. This is so much more helpful than just telling the listener to get more sleep, because it provides a foundation for why change is needed, which will help maintain motivation.

Speaking of motivation, in just over four hours, my mindset changed from one of “this book probably is more for my parents age than for me,” to, “I need to start implementing some of these practical and wise suggestions today!”

Ten years ago, I was permanently bloated, You know, a big belly that whatever you do it just can't be moved, five years ago, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, and last year was told that I had high cholesterol, so I researched how How to improve things naturally as the doctors were no help, they did want me to take statins for the high cholesterol. So researched statins and was horrified by what I found. No way was I taking them. I'm big into herbs and found many herbs help with these conditions, and the next step was to see a dietitian. My big gut was due to cows' milk! Apparently, cow's milk is not cows milk anymore due to what cows now eat. She, too, was into herbs and health. I have had a flat stomach ever since. Cholesterol and high blood pressure are now ok too.

This audio is an incredibly informative and helpful guide to preventing disease, avoiding memory loss, and staying active. The author provides a well-researched & extensive amount of information on lifestyle changes that can significantly impact the length and quality of our lives.

I loved this book, educational, well written and narrated, I highly recommended to getting and listening this book well worth your time. I had skin issues in the past due to food allergies, this book will guide you to step by step on how to take care of your health. Prevention is the key! diseases that comes with aging is preventable, The relaxation steps and strategies to get back in track are all in this book. Thank you Tammy for writing this book.

The book is written by a lifestyle coach and nutritionist Tammi Gallagher who also owns a weight-loss clinic. I would recommend it to everyone who‘s looking for a complex approach not only to longevity, but for tuning their health and their life for the better. The book includes a 5-pillar concept of longevity as well as exact steps on how to put it in action. I really enjoyed the detailed explanations and already started to implement small lifestyle changes proposed in this book.
