About this listen

This world is no friend to grace. God has given us some resources, however. As we grow in character qualities like hope, patience, repentance and joy, we ill grow in our ability to persevere. The biblical passages in these studies offer encouragement to continue in the path Christ has set forth for us.©2000 christianaudio.com; 2000 Eugene H Peterson Christian Living Christianity Personal Development Personal Success Spirituality Devotional

I love the unique genre of this book. A pastoral, prayerful commentary on some important prayerful Psalms; the Psalms of Ascent. It includes Eugene’s message translation and his own insight into these Psalms, which are surprisingly relevant for the here and now. An undisputed classic.

I think this book is useful for all Christians, whatever our maturity. Eugene Peterson is such an inspiring man and gives such wisdom. I have been a Christian for many years, but i still got so much out of this book. It is helpful for living our lives out as Christians - not in formulaic ways, but examining the principles in scripture so that we can prayerfully then live them out together, in community.
