About this listen

When the world shut down, the real danger began.

London, March 2020. Streets silenced. Neighbors clapping from windows. A world paralyzed by fear.

But furloughed journalist Daniel Mercer notices what no one else dares to see: unmarked vans arriving at night. Men in masks. A scream drowned out by applause. And an apartment across the street where the lights never go out.

Drawn into a web of vanishing emails, manipulated news, and surveillance that knows his every move, Daniel uncovers Project Seraphim—an experiment so chilling it was hidden in plain sight.

As trust collapses and the watchers close in, Daniel has one choice: expose the truth, or become its next subject.

Terrifyingly plausible. Relentlessly gripping. Perfect for fans of Dean Koontz, Michael Crichton, and Blake Crouch.

Would you have seen it—if it was right outside your window?

I'm not the kind of person who's paranoid about the 2020 lockdown, but this audiobook piqued my attention because I'm a fan of survival books and games, so this was a must for me. Following Daniel through all this conspiracy in the middle of the lockdown reminded me of the old Tom Clancy novels, WWII movies, and, why not, those zombie movies where the characters must resist and look for a way out. The Van part was my favourite, all I can say without spoiling anything is that the author did a great job with this one.

I listened to this book in one sitting, not only because of the short chapter length but also because it’s written in a really smooth and flowing way that keeps you turning pages. I kept telling myself, “Just one more chapter and then back to work,” but I ended up needing to know what happens next and didn’t work at all, lol.

Great novel!
