About this listen

The sixth book in the bestselling Dan 'Spider' Shepherd series.

Mickey and Mark Moore are Ordinary Decent Criminals - hard men who live by their own code and leaders of a gang that has made millions at the point of a gun.

But when Dan 'Spider' Shepherd is sent to infiltrate the tightly-knit team of bank robbers, he discovers that he has more in common with them then he first thought. And that perhaps being a career criminal isn't the worst thing in the world.

As Shepherd and his Serious Organised Crime Agency colleagues plot the downfall of the Moore brothers, a more sinister threat stalks the streets of London. A group of home-grown Islamic fundamentalist fanatics embark on a campaign of terror the like of which Britain has never seen. Car bombs and beheadings are only the prelude of what they have planned.

And Shepherd is the only man who can stop them.

only just got into the spider shepherd books and have got this far in a couple of weeks, brilliant stories and this one is my favourite so far, Paul Thornley is the only guy out there that could do these books justice, both him and the author are awesome 👍

The best so far !

I love Spider Shepherd, along with the Jack Nightingale books and both seies are brought to life perfectly by Paul Thornley.

Excellent performances really make the best of Stephen Leather's great story telling.

Great stuff...many thanks!

I have been engrossed in the Stephen Leathers ‘Dan Shepherd’ series. The previous books narrated by Paul Thornley have been brilliant, it’s been his voices and accents that have kept me engaged just as much as the storyline and writing, however I have to question whether this is Paul narrating this book? It doesn’t sound like him at all and unfortunately I haven’t enjoyed this book nowhere near as much as the previous titles.

Questionable Narration….

This was a complex story and 80% of it was taken up with the build up. The action is contained within. the last 20%> That said, it's customary for Stephen to build up the multiple layers of his characters. Whilst it took time to get to the action, the book was thoroughly enjoyable and well worth reading.

If you've read the series so far you will find some characters have a recurring role in the books and others have a guest appearance so to speak in the titles.

At the same time as completing this story, Stephen is already laying the groundwork for a future one. I feel sure that at least one of the Extremists in this book, will pop up again in a future serial.

Paul Thornley's voice is almost a must narrator for these books now days. Absolutely worth purchasing.

Slow with all the action co trained in the last hour
