About this listen

The best selling 6-books series is now complete!

Once a powerful player. Now, a level 1 monster. And he must embrace that side to survive.

Oren was a dominant force in the bustling digital realm of NEO, commanding wealth, prestige, and high levels. But when fate deals him a cruel blow, trapping him in the body of a lowly goblin and depriving him of his ability to log out, Oren is forced to fight for survival.

Stripped of his immense powers and cast into a hostile, monster-ridden wilderness, with the constant risk of the game frying his nervous system, his only way out of the virtual purgatory is to win.

But it’s not easy starting from scratch as one of the weakest races. Preyed upon by both monsters and players alike, his only hope for allies lies with … other goblins.

Join Oren on a thrilling journey as he rises to the challenge of transforming the weakest of creatures into an unstoppable force. Delve into his quest to turn his level 1 fodder character into a boss monster powerhouse. Experience the thrill of watching Oren's journey to greatness unfold.

I'm at chapter 7 and I decided that I've experienced enough to write a review of the book, if It was a masterpiece as my last book I would have been too into it to take my time and write this message. I wouldn't do that until I had listened to at list first book all and maybe some of the second.

But, I think you've got the point. The story is not bad at all, I can hardly find something worth pointing out that it's not OK. For some, this story could be their 'masterpiece' as it was for me the previous title.. but exactly because I already found mine previously, I might not be totally subjective about it.

So going back to the point, the only bad thing about it it's that the voice of the little A.I. translating all the in-game details is bothering. It's enough listening to it saying one or two things from time to time, but having to listen to the voice speaking all the details of skills etc every time the MC improves is annoying and totally wakes you up from the world that the author tries to make you stay. If the game voice remained as previously, it would've been perfect.

For future reference, if you are going to mimic an annoying voice for a character.. please make sure we are not stuck to listen to it all the time. Thanks!

The first of this kind of series i have come across and i am totally blown away. After listening (and reading the fourth) to the first three books i am totally blown away.

This is most definitely the best of them all. Spoiler alert: his torture scene and Tikkas at the hands of the hobgoblin boss was dark as hell and amazing. I was totally gripped from start to finish with this first one, but that particular scene blew my mind - nearly crashed the van.

It kind of reminds me of the Jack Reacher books though - 1st book, totally outstanding, since then it's the same story - Jack turns up, figures out the situation with no personal development (Mary Sue anyone?) shags the girl (probably infront of her cuck husband or family) and saves the day.

This first book was outstanding, since then, it just seems like a bit of a tired continuation.

Either way, i am still enjoying them, but this one was out of the ball park.

Captivating

for me the story was bogged down a lot by constant mention of game mechanics but I enjoyed the story overall

goblins rule!

I have had a few moments of frustration at choices made. However this was enjoyable. Especially one part of cruel brutality made me happy as I do wish more stories would be willing to step so deep into discomfort zones. I hope it was not the last time the series goes to such dark places.

I like how far it was willing to go.

If you love the MMORPG genre then you'll love this; it's not the best I've read, but it's up there and beats out all of the ridiculous amounts of stuck in an MMO fantasy world that animé studios keep spitting out. At least in book form they aren't going to rush it out so that it feels lifeless.

Pretty Fun Read
