It's funny to look back at Life Reset noe that I've listened to over 100 LitRPG novels when you consider this was my first.

I remember buying and starting the book, having nonodea what to expect and not putting the book down (or should that be not pausing) for nearly 6 hours as I was wholly drawn into Oren's world.

With likeable characters, a real sense of purpose and a really original system (even now), I stil don't think this serious has been beaten by any subsequent Lit books I've listened too and the narration by Jeff Hays ks as perfect as always.

Best LitRPG to date, second only to the subsequent ones through the series.

... yet a bit too heavy on the stat sheets. Support cast is also lacking quite a bit both in depth as well as in presence.

Not a bad start to a series though and the twist of following a monster player, even while not that novel anymore, is still quite fun.

Unique, enjoyable story with fantastic narration. Without giving away major plot points, it follows the adventures of a player stuck in a video game who has been turned into a monster and must build a settlement.

Though the book is an easy listen, be prepared for a plethora of stat tables and crunchy numbers which can get tedious. The author also has a tendency of repeating information two or three times in rapid succession. Made me feel like I was back at school, being told what was important by the teacher. Luckily this dies out and isn't an issue after the first couple of hours.

This is my first Soundbooth Theatre listen and I have to say I'm impressed. The audio was clean and beauiful to listen to, with little sound effects that really made a difference, like chimes and reverberation when appropriate that really added immersion to the story.

My one big issue, and the reason this book gets 4 stars not 5 for story, was the inclusion of a reasonably detailed torture scene toward the end of the book. While justified, it wasn't pleasant to listen to and came about suddenly. This, and the inclusion of one 'fade-to-black' sex scene, makes this book 100% not suitable for children.

I found this book unusually relaxing to listen to. A nice take on the more normal "player gets trapped in AI world as themselves" arrangement with interesting and clever side effects.
