About this listen

A journey far from home. Becoming enslaved. Giving in to your inner monster.

Having survived the first wave of invading players, Oren now seeks to strengthen his clan. With the Breeder’s Den destroyed and most of Goblin's Gorge's resources devoted to rebuilding, his best hope lies in creating an army of golems. But for that, he needs Viridium, a rare metal that can only be obtained from hobgoblin towns, where Oren and his clan of goblins are viewed as nothing more than potential slaves. To make his way in the game, and to defeat his former guild, Oren’s ingenuity alone will not be enough. He will need to conquer his deepest fears and tap into his inner monster.

The story progressed well but the audio effects detracted from the production quality. the narration was good as always but the post production is lacking with too much echo/reverb and inconsistent sound stage. so this is a step back from the production values of the first two instalments. looking forward to the next instalment in the series.

good narrators, good story, poor audio effects

I loved this series of books, the narrators were brilliant and the sound booth theatre guys made this come to life. I hope they release more books in the series! Easy listening and fully engrossing content. Brilliant!

A great addition to the New Era Online Series, as always its hard to give the review justice without spoilers, so will leave all story elements out.

Two things different on this last book performance wise:

- Narrators voice would suddenly increase/decrease in tone at places, i noticed during the tone increases it almost sounded like a different person, but i think it was the same person lacking the emotion of the lines as they were added afterwards?

- Sound Effects were a nice edition, the first one was unexpected and scared the Shadow Crap out of me!

A Great Addition to the Series!

As some others have pointed out, for some reason the producers have decided to use sporadic sound effects to try to enhance the power of the story. It doesn't work and just makes it sound cheap. The Star Wars audiobooks have a much better production value of this.
The story itself is good and there is plenty of action and interesting parts, just not as many or as exciting as the first two books. It is the weakest of the three books, probably because it is much shorter but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

The End

So annoying how stupid the protagonist is, it shouldn't be that bad but dame he really really is stupid
