About this listen

From the author of Stars Collide and Cover Story comes a steamy will-they-won’t-they romance about a bright young teacher reconnecting with the jaded professor she once pined for.

For Audrey Lind, working with clay still evokes memories of her favorite professor. The woman’s zeal for art history ignited Audrey’s own academic career—and her tweed blazers and British accent kindled her first female crush. After fate brings Audrey back to Northshire University to teach, she’s thrilled to be working alongside her former mentor, but the grumpy woman she encounters upon her return is nothing like the dynamo she remembers.

Divorce and a stalling career have turned Dr. Michelle Thompson bitter and guarded. When Audrey swoops in to teach the Women in Art class Michelle’s been pitching for years, she longs to hate her. But her young rival is too kind, too enthusiastic, too irresistible. And her passion for life slowly reawakens Michelle’s own.

Wary of age gaps and workplace politics, they suppress their smoldering attraction—until one wine-filled night at the pottery wheel puts their romantic truce to the test. Will they keep things on the tenure track or risk it all for love?

I loved it! Audrey and Michelle are warm and wonderfully written. Lots of romance which I loved. Quinn did a wonderful job narrating but not so sure about the English accent but it was a wonderful listen. Recommend ❤️

This is most likely Rachel Lacey’s best one yet. At least in my opinion. It’s sweet, cute, funny, sad, easy going. Everything you’d want. I’ll definitely listen again.

I've been looking forward to this book for months and it did not disappoint! It was cosy, autumnal, romantic and pretty damn sexy! That pottery scene...Jesus. As usual, Quinn Riley does an astounding job at narrating. While the English accent for Michelle was a little off at times, you can really tell Riley made such a careful effort with it. It may have only been more jarring for me as I'm English anyway! Deffo recommend picking this up to listen to, I loved it.

Wanted to read something autumnal and sapphic; this fits the bill! Graduate teacher Audrey Lind returns to her university as a professor, offering her the chance to work with Dr Michelle Thompson, the British lecturer she had a crush on. Set in Vermont, it’s a cute autumnal sapphic romance with some great 🌶️ 👀 Age gap, hot lecturer in tweed jackets, slow burn - highly recommend! The only slight downside is that the audiobook narrator hasn’t quite got the British accent down, which at times is quite obvious.

I thought this book was fantastic, a definite favourite of Rachel Lacey's books so far. Adored the characters and the slow burn!
Only issue I had was with the narration - the narration itself was good but the British accent left something to be desired as a Brit myself. The bigger issue with the narration was the breathing in-between sentences, sometimes louder than the words themselves. It was quite distracting at times but well worth pushing through as the story was amazing!

A Beautiful Romance
