Summary

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver will be donating 100% of its proceeds from this book to The Trevor Project and AIDS United.

HBO's Emmy-winning Last Week Tonight presents the story of a Very Special boy bunny who falls in love with another boy bunny.

Meet Marlon Bundo, a lonely bunny who lives with his Grampa—the vice president of the United States. But on this Very Special Day, Marlon's life is about to change forever...

With a message of tolerance and advocacy, this charming children's book explores issues of same sex marriage and democracy. Beautifully performed by an all-star cast, featuring Jim Parsons, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jeff Garlin, Ellie Kemper, John Lithgow, Jack McBrayer, and RuPaul, this sweet and funny story is dedicated to every bunny who has ever felt different.

About the author: Marlon Bundo is a very fun bunny who recently relocated to Washington, DC, from his home in Indiana. He enjoys hopping through the garden, eating all his vegetables, and hula-hooping.

A lovely and positive story

I bought this book on audible as soon as I saw John Oliver talk about it on Last Week Tonight and I was not disappointed. The story is simple but beautiful with wonderful and positive messages about accepting everyone's differences, about love and about friendship. On top of this, Jim Parson's reading is great and all proceeds from both the print and audio versions support The Trevor Project and Aids United so I would recommend this story to anyone.

A perfect love story

A perfect bite-size love story. Short and sweet. And hopefully annoying to a certain vice President.

“You must go forth in the world, with passion, courage in your conviction, and most importantly be true to yourself.”

"It's just fake. It's fake. It's made-up stuff. It's disgraceful what happens, but that happens in the—that happens in the world of politics." —Trump, October 27, 2017

It may be fake but this is damn fine satire. Well worth the money and well worth the 7.5 minutes of your life.

As Trump said in the quote of him used for the title, go forth in the world and be yourself, no marter who you are.

This story is cute, but let's be honest.

Cute story, but it could've been an hour of a monotone voice saying the word "chrysanthemum" over and over and I still would've bought it just knowing it's a giant middle finger to Mike Pence. 🐰

Lovely story of diversity

What made the experience of listening to A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo the most enjoyable?

Enjoyed the voices take on the characters. I could visualize each one being brave, fearful, or joyful.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Marlon Bundo. He saw inequality and helped everyone realize we are different, and that does not mean we need to be the same.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. This is my first audiobook.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Stinkbugs are temporary.

Any additional comments?

Thank for for helping people realize and recorgnize that although we are different, we can relate to each other on a personal level.

I wasn't prepared for that!

I had heard about this book from a friend, they told me it was an empowering and motivating short story about a disadvatged couple and their struggles to be accepted, but I wasn't expecting to be taken on an emotional rollercoaster!
the story really gives you insight into the life of Marlon Bundo, the development of the characters really draws you in.

I give this book 5 hops! would hop again!

Buy this book and make Mike Pence cry

This book is not about Mike Pence "because he's not very interesting." This wonderful book introduces love, acceptance of differences, and the undeserved power of stinkbugs. Each book purchased results in a donation to the Trevor Project. "Because stinkbugs are temporary but love is forever. "

great moral of the story

The stink bugs stink and they do not know it. They are also pretty stupid, even by bug standards. Don't vote for stink bugs... happily ever after !

This should be on every bookshelf!

What did you love best about A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo?

I initially felt Marlon lived in Canada but stink bugs don't have a voice here.

What did you like best about this story?

It's about love and friends.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Has Jim Parsons narrated other things?????

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My reaction was first to fall in love with the book and then to do what I can to make sure there are less and less stink bugs until there are no more.

Any additional comments?

This book should be in every school, library, children's room, daycare, etc.
