Summary

Piotr Andréyevich llega con su fiel criado Savélich a la fortaleza Belogórskaya. Allí se enamora de María Ivánovna, la hija del capitán. Por culpa de la interpretación de un poema, Piotr se bate en duelo con Alexéi Ivánich Shvabrin, del que sale mal parado.
