Summary

She’s in a white dress that dances around her ankles, and her hair tumbles in a long sheet of curls down her back. A veil covers her beautiful eyes, and she smiles directly at him.

Janie is everything Rafe’s ever imagined she would be on her wedding day.

Breathtaking. Gorgeous. Perfect.

The moment he sees her walking down the aisle toward him, he knows that she’s the one. Then, she passes him, making her way to the man she’s to marry.

A man that wasn’t him. A man that he knows with 100 percent certainty isn’t good enough for her.

It seems that her father isn’t the only one who’s having a hard time giving her away. Rafe only wishes he knew why.

Everything about Janie sparks protective instincts he doesn’t feel for anyone, not even his own fiancé. What he feels for the bride, however, isn’t merely a simple attraction. He knows that something is there just beneath the surface...if only he could reach it. It has to be something huge, too, otherwise he wouldn’t be drinking whiskey straight from the flask in a church pew and wondering how many years he would do in prison if he shot the groom in front of about a hundred witnesses, half of those being cops.

He was good...but not that good.

A near-death experience cost Rafe almost six months of his memory, but right now, he can’t help but feel like a huge mistake is being made on both of their parts. One that’s going to cost him everything.

Then, she says, "I do."

Author's note: I, Lani Lynn Vale, solemnly swear that there is no cheating in this book. But looks are deceiving. So hang with me.

Hot older guy and younger daughter of the boss

Rafe is a ex military who now works in a investigation company after he was mistreated by military doctor that cause everlasting problems and rafe knew he was negligent with his treatment after finding out who he was. Janie is the young daughter of a ex military man who helps people in abusive or dangerous situations and gives them a new life. Janie is 20years younger then Janie but they definitely work well. Absolutely loved this book especially with joe Arden narrating he can do no wrong in my eyes.

3.5 Stars

It took me quite a few chapters to get into this audiobook, the story had me a little befuddled. I couldn’t work out if I actually liked Janie, she was a little whiny and immature and not my favourite kind of heroine. I understand that she’d loved Rafe from the age of 12, when he was a 32 year old associate of her father, I understand the whole crush thing, but I just couldn’t relate to her. I also understand that Rafe had a thing for her (when she was legit in her 20s), the story had potential, I loved the premise, and by the time I was nearing the end, I was rooting for their happy ever after. I was glad I stuck with it, but it wasn’t an easy read. The narration however was perfect. Joe Arden is a firm favourite of mine, I just love his sexy rumble.

Don't bother

I don't know why this book got such high reviews. Even Joe Arden couldn't save it!

Kinda Don't Care

I said amazing read, why? Because it's the first time that I've ever read this author's book and she blew me away. From now on she'll be an automatic oneclick for me, I'll start getting all her other books. I can't believe I waited this long to read her books.

Disappointed

I love, love, loved this book when I read it and was really looking forward to listening to it. Unfortunately, the female lead was extremely hard for me to listen to. I will oftentimes have a hard time with the narrator's voice at the beginning of a book but by the end of the first or second chapter I am good to go. Not this time. I am sad too that I won't be able to listen to the rest of the series since the same people are narrating. Oh, and while I like Jie Arden's voice well enough, I really miss Mason Lloyd.

Monotonous

I love this story, so I was super excited to listen to it. However Mr. Arden completely ruined this for me. He had no inflection in his voice at all and it just droned on and on unfortunately. It’s a bit annoying because when he wasn’t voicing the H he actually seemed pretty good (maybe it was just the break from the monotony?) Anywho, it was a MAJOR let down and I was unfortunately unable to make it past Chapter 3. Now I’m off to just reread the book cause I’m really in a Kinda Don’t Care mood lately!

OMG!!!!

I LOVE this book! Lani Lynn Vale is brilliant. I was NOT expecting the twist but made the story perfect. Joe Arden and Virginia Rose did an awesome job. I would recommend this to anyone.

The book was ok

Not a big fan of the female reader. The story dragged when she read. I've listened to all of LLV stories.

I kinda didn’t care for this book.

It was very chaotically written, in a rush and very messy. I couldn’t finish it. Dreadful.

Funny and enjoyable

The little blurbs at the beginning of each chapter had me laughing out loud, OMG they came out of left field at times. Loved the narration - Joe Arden did a fantastic job. The story was good, the memory loss was sad at times. Overall an enjoyable listen.
