Summary
Saima Harmaja (1913-1937) muistetaan lahjakkaana nuorena kirjailijana, jonka elämää kuitenkin varjosti sairaus, mutta joka kirjoitti koskettavia ja tunteisiin vetoavia runoja elämästä ja kuolemasta. Useat hänen ruonoistaan säteilevät myös herkkää luonnon kuvausta. Harmaja kertoo itse päiväkirjassaan:"runot, joita olen kirjoittanut, nehän ovat ajatusteni säveltä-ne ovat olleet harmaita ja raskaita. Niiden sointu on särkyvän sydämen sointu, lukuun ottamatta jotakin, jolloin olen noussut tuskani yläpuolelle." Vaikutteita tyyliinsä sai mm. Dantelta, Kailaalta ja Aleksis Kiveltä. Harmaja sai valtion kirjallisuuspalkinnon 1935 ja Suomalaisen Kirjallisuuden Seuran palkinnon 1936. Harmaja ehti tehdä neljä runokokoelmaa. Tällä äänikirjalla on yhteensä 52 runoa.
