Summary

Kate thinks all her wishes have come true when she opens her little craft shop down on the harbour in the pretty Cornish seaside town of St Felix.

It's been her life-long dream to open her own shop, and now she's finally got the chance, she's loving selling her own quirky handmade textile designs to the many holidaymakers that flock into St Felix every year.

But there's a mystery about Kate's shop - one that Jack, the owner of a new art store in town, wants to help Kate solve. A series of mysterious paintings and beautiful embroidered pictures hint at a love story over 60 years old, but Kate needs to know how the story ends!

As Kate and Jack delve deeper into the vintage romance, they find that not only do their own lives share uncanny similarities with their 1950s counterparts, but also the two of them are becoming closer.

But as the two couples' stories unfold over six decades apart, can Kate and Jack put right a wrong that's remained a secret since the 1950s - and will both couples end up with the happy ending they truly deserve?

Magical story

I really enjoyed this book, it was a joy from start to finish. I enjoyed the characters, and a nice touch was finding out about characters from previous books. This was a great story and I found myself wanting to find out more and more. This is a feel good story, that makes you smile.

Great story

I was unsure to begin with reading this book it’s beginning is similar to another book I have read by Ali McNamara, however I soon got over this as I was drawn into the lives of all the characters both past and present. The inclusion of characters from previous books is always a pleasure and the continuation of their stories enhanced the story adding colour and flavour. The main characters were well developed and likeably human both flawed and well meaning. The story developed gently and ended with you feeling both happy in present and past stories. It was a really great book

Disappointing

Have always enjoyed Ali McNamara's writing but not this one so much.Wasn't expecting the fantasy element which was off putting. Couldn't take it seriously after that.

Ridiculous

I was looking forward to reading more of this quaint Cornish harbour town. I expected the book to be a bit quirky as the previous were but it was ludicrous. I loved the previous books but this was boring and the characters annoying. I listen to audio in the sunshine and bed times but kept sleeping and missing whole chapters and not noticing. Disappointed.

Brilliant story

Another brilliant story from Ali, based in St. Felix, Cornwall. So wish it had been the same person who read Ali's last St Felix stories though.

Beautiful

Multi layered, beautifully written and well narrated story. Love the two main characters Kate and Jack. The fact that Jack is in a wheelchair and the way his personality is so well crafted is just brilliant. Love the historical and enchanted way the story unfolds. Beautiful book, thoroughly enjoyed every second.

Pure Escapism

Good accents by the narrator and a wonderful story - lost myself in it!
